Even without Greg Oden, Indiana outrebounded Kentucky 65-35!

Ouch!

Slaughter was the only Ky player in double figures with 21 points.

no surprise here, they still had a far superior team!

No surprise with Slaughter leading Kentucky in points either, since no one was going to go inside against Indiana anyways. I honestly thought the score would have been more lopsided even without Mr. Oden. Anyone with the Box Scores?

Random notes — Kentucky's biggest problem was coping with Indiana's physicality on offense and defense; every Kentucky shot was contested … I'm not 100 percent sure Slaughter wasn't the best player on the floor. WKU got a real steal there … The Conley kid by no means rides Oden's coattails. He's a stud on his own, and made some ridiculously good passes. If his teammates could finish, he would've had 12 assists instead of four … Luke Harangody was the biggest beneficiary of Kentucky's lack of size, going for 16 points and 14 rebounds to lead his squad in both categories … Kentucky tried to press, but it backfired, as they only turned Indiana over 23 times to their 17 … Kentucky hung around early, then got behind by 15 by halftime. They came back and cut it as low as seven, but they could never get any closer as the Indiana depth and size wore out the Kentucky stars … Kentucky shot 37.5 percent from the field …

Did Mr. Basketball even score in this game?

Forget it. Three points on one of three shooting. Wow.

While Walt would be the first to admit he's not the best player on the team, it's probably not fair to single him out for ridicule when Slaughter was the only one who played well for Ky.

Why didn't Oden play in this one? Did he already exceed the number of All-Star games allowed by the NCAA? Or if he has one left is he saving it for another game? The McDonalds All-Star game counts for one correct?

Oden has a wrist injury that will require surgery.

Biggest smile in Kentucky right now: Darrin Horn. What a steal he got with Slaughter. Overall the talent level in Ky senior class is down but that kid can play on the same level as those kids from Indiana and last night it was obvious that he was the only one. What a sham that he didn't win Mr. Basketball.

Torn ligament in his wrist.

Oden has already had surgery, and a timetable has yet to be set for his return. Word is he could be out untill Big 11 play starts...
