I can somewhat understand the practice jersey thing but the sticker removal I respectfully disagree with.If you award these on individual achievement you are punishing kids on an unequal level because if a kid has a helmet full of stickers and you take them away because of one loss, you send the message that all your efforts to earn these stickers means nothing!Winning is all that matters.I was at game last week and the better team won and not because of effort IMHO.Believe me Bracken Co. fans ,it has nothing to do with disrespect for you.To any players at FHS,believe in yourselves, don't lose your confidence and win out all the way to the pizza box!!!

My hope is EJ Fields and co. will have what it takes to put last week behind them and take care of business from here on out. FHS big in this one!!!

Likewise I will pull for FHS every night except Fri.:thumb: Yes the budgets of BOTH schools are downright shameful!This can and is overcome by superior coaching which both schools also have!!!!!I wish our local schools had better support from local merchants and even their own school boards and parents.FC goes to several schools that have FIELD TURF,state of the art training facilities,etc.Of course it is human nature to envy these things but unacceptable to use them as an excuse.FCHS and FHS can and will win without them.:ylsuper: :ylsuper: :ylsuper:

As I said last week,the game is won at the line of scrimmage!Anyone that cannot see that FC has a difinitve edge here has not seen both teams play. However,if FC's line takes off one play it will equal 6pts for FHS.Most interesting to me is the coaching matchup on both sides of the ball.The desire from the players will be there, and play calling and adjustments by the coaching staffs will play a huge role in this game.Both of these head coaches have come a long way from being assistants on a winless FC team in the not too distant past!This game is what high school football is all about.Also I love coach Buckett and company crying the little class A school blues.They don't believe it for a minute,just like Sam Harp and poor little Danville Vs. Boyle co.:lol: :lol: :lol:

This year,like every other year people talk about the rb's,qb's and recievers, make comparisons to past stars,and believe that these players win games. The more educated fans realize that the game is won on the line of scrimmage!Western Hills has NO ONE in the same class as Smither and Barnett or for that matter Watkins or Jones.If these boys come to play they can compete with anyone.I truly appreciate the ability of these young men and hope they realize the impact that coach Ledford has had in their development.These linemen can put FC on their backs and carry them as far as they want to go!!!!!

With all 3 schools losing major talent, which one looks like the team to beat? Will this series continue after this year?

Absolutely the best thing that could happen for the kids!He is close enough to already know all the kids and they have the utmost respect for him.He has been the kind of coach the kids need from day one because you always know where you stand with him.He will coach ball and make boys men!:ylsuper:

Wondering if athletic issues were discussed with the new sup. candidates. The facilities at both county high schools and Frankfort high are an embarassment !We as supporters of these programs should be pushing this as an issue with the BOE.The Capitol of Ky should be a showcase instead of mediocre.The WORST field these kids play on is their own more often than not.

The fact of the matter is that big time sports in general is a liars game when it comes to coaches.Look at the previous weeks example of coaches saying one thing while looking people in the eye and doing the complete opposite.Insert the word coach in place of lawyer or car salemen in jokes and you have a more accurate depiction of the truth!The sports all us BGPers love are being tainted far worse by the lying coaches than the TO's of the world!coaches use the excuse of needing a multi-year contract to recruit,showing stability,when it is in reality a safety net if they fail.Players and parents need to remember that winning is the ONLY thing important to these men,and if you can help them fine ,if you don't they have no use for you.We all enjoy watching games played by college athletes and it remains a game to spectators.It is nothing more than a business to coaches,athletic directors,and university presidents.But before we completely blame these people,we must remember that our dollars make or break their livelyhoods.If a kid is really looking to play for the love of the game intead of looking for training for the pro level they should consider the d2 and d3 levels where the game is more pure and all parties involved have less fan and administrative pressure.

Taller? how tall is Barry Sanders?Emmitt Smith? Warrick Dunn?He could play big time regardless of his height but may not get recruited just like Kaelin Ammons at FC.Too many people get hung up on #s on paper and forget that ability and heart are infinitely more important!

I believe Ammons had more yards RUSHING than Mr. football,to say nothing of his passing prowess!Can't wait to watch him prove all who thought he was too short or whatever reason they give for not recruiting him wrong!!!!:ylsuper: :ylsuper: :ylsuper:

When I think of Kaelin Ammons, 2 athletes come to mind that went elsewhere and everyone in KY said "how did the get away from us?"do the names Shaun Alexander and Chris Lofton.Ring a bell? Ask Fulmer at UT if he remembers a kid named Chad Pennington that was right under his nose!Kaelin will make them all lose sleep when he stars wherever he goes!My kids have played with him since youth leagues and he is a very special athlete with an unparalleled love of the game.

Kaelin Ammons at Franklin Co. Leading passer,leading rusher,possibly even leading tackler,and int's on defense(not sure on "d" stats)Also a candidate in "Most class shown" on and off the field! :banana:

Exactly why won't the lexington public schools play Lexcath? Is it a directive from the school system or an agreement among the public school coaches or another reason?:confused:

For Franklin County to have had the season they had ,with basically a whole new group of recievers on the field from last year,the leading tackler from D gone as well,they had to step it up as a whole team to even be playing in the game last night.:mad: Most people would have thought FC would have a down year even with Kaelin Ammons.They played great team ball and should hold heads high!You don't have to choke to have a team like LexCath come back and win a game. They are the defending state champs for a reason. Everyone will write off FC because Ammons is gone,but the kids on this team will come back strong next year and surprise people.

:laugh: :laugh: :laugh: I'm sure FHS hasn't prepared for this game at all!In fact I bet they didn't even practice this week! Like every other game each coach will make adjustments.I believe FHS has more talent than Danville and the players will be ready to play.FHS claims rd.2 because it's on the players to be focused and put forth the effort needed to claim victory, and they WILL show up!

FC played on your field already this year,against Somerset.I think they did OK in that game!:lol:Lexcath has a pitiful turnout for the football games,especially considering the caliber of the program.However, the boosters seem to able to raise huge $$$$.

I think if you ask Coach Harp, he will tell you his experience under coach Dearborn wasVERY VALUABLE to him and he still uses many principles that he learned from Dearborn.Yes he only coached in one state championship but that doesn't make him any less successful given the short amount of time he coached at FC!:madman: :madman: :madman:

The last time you played FC it was senior night or homecoming and you had maybe 250-300 then!One of the few teams FC plays that has less fans than we have on the road!

As a Frankfort resident,I can vouch for the bleachers.I can tell you the HOME bleachers at my beloved FCHS are rickety.WHHS has nice bleachers, but I don't like the all fans on the same side of the field.Unfortunately,our programs here in F'fort don't have the support of local fans or merchants on the level of towns like Danville and most big time programs like Lexcath. That being said,I think we DO have coaches that are rapidly approaching elite status among the state.

:thumb: No one including myself thought that FC would be as tough as last year with all the players they lost.Man was I wrong!The line play and BLOCKING from the recievers is much better than last year!You can tell they are as proud of their blocks as they are their catches.Coach Ledford has really squeezed everything out of his linemen,and the entire coaching staff has stepped it up in preparation and playcalling.Last game it looked like EJHS had FC's playbook,this time it was the other way around!
