Will Franklin Co. repeat as city champs?

Featured Replies

With all 3 schools losing major talent, which one looks like the team to beat?

Will this series continue after this year?

Frankfort will remain the team to beat...

Franklin County was the team to beat, but I agree Frankfort may be wearing the bullseye this year.

FC will not beat Frankfort this year...

Who are the key players for each team? Obviously Frankfort has D1 prospect EJ Fields. What about FC, Don't they have some decent skills players returning?

Franklin County returns alot of good skill players.

Deron Hicks, Gabe jones Chris Hogan, Jacob Proctor, Kevin Stiles, Brandon Meriwether at Reciever

Terry metcalf, Leland Robinson and Newcomer Lane Jackson at RB

The whole O-line/D-line except Newland who will be replaced with 6'4 260 lb JR Oakley Watkins

On defense they return every starter but a safety and linebacker, and a split time corner.

But Frankfort is so fast and skilled and with EJ they must be the team to beat.

FC new QB will have big shoes to fill...

You never can refill the shoes of a player like Ammons, Just hope the next one brings his own set of skills and steps up to the best of his ability.

Franklin Co. is the team the beat. they return to many good players.

But Let me ask you this What good is the so called " City Championship" That and 50 cents won't by you a cup of joe at the Soup kitchen.

Now it is great for the city and football in the city. It's good for the kids. And when you have to play a team like County they prepare you for the district.

I can only speak for the folks at FHS they have 4 games a whole lot more important than the County & Hills game. I am sure that the coaches at the other schools feel the same way.

So at the end of the year No one ask who won their City Championship. The only Championship played in a city anyone should care about is played in Louisville not Frankfort.

^ The stable is full.

Who will step up for Robinson in the Back Field this year?

Not to worry Frankfort Brings athletes every season.

Can't disagree with you here, but it is great to see the interest in the matchup between FHS and FC. I believe the traditional matchup will take place at the Belpoint home of Frankfort. One thing is for sure, it will be a packed house.

I'll be tailgating at Benson Valley Marina's Willie's Tiki Bar and Grill (best cheeseburgers in Frankfort), followed by a short boatride up the Kentucky River to Friday Night Lights at Belpoint KY.

Should be alot of fun.

Sounds like the way to do it. It's always fun at Sower field and yes it will be packed.

This match up makes football better in Frankfort period. Wether the game means anything or not all three programs get more kids out every year due to the hype that sorrounds this game. I look forward to this rivalry for many years to come.
