  1. Spoken like a true Kentucky fan. I hope U of L takes the chance.
  2. I don't give a crap if all the SEC teams are in the top 25. UK fans just harp on that all the time. Get yourself in the top five and quit crowing about the SEC conference. Until UK gets in the top of the SEC conference it doesn't matter to me. I would rather U of L be in the top two in the Big East than be near the bottom of the SEC.
  3. After looking over the 17 commitments it is hard to believe Coach Krag has done this so fast. He must be one heck of a person and recruiter. Card fans are buzzing every where about his success. Can September get here fast enough?
  4. Judging from the pic of Commonwealth Stadium I could see you thinking U of L will take a step back. I disagree. I don't think they take a step back, they may not go forward either. I hope they don't spin their wheels. I still think they are going to have a solid season and the players have a lot to work for and look forward to. Card fans are excited. I can't wait!
  5. I won't argue that the SEC is the strongest football conference in the nation. It is, but I disagree with it being the strongest in basketball. That is arbitrary. Women's basketball, I think so, but not the mens.
  6. I read that article and asked why? I hope the kid takes it as a personal challenge. I thought the article was uncalled for. U of L has not had that many problems. The two juveniles and the paintball incident was not their proudest moment. Williams has not caused any problems in the past two years. It would be different if he had just recently been arrested. Of course, UK fans will jump on this. I don't care. I hope Williams comes in, behaves, and wrecks havoc on opposing teams offenses. Maybe he has grown up and accepted responsibility. I never thought it was a teacher or coaches jobs to give up on kids. Because most of public will. Many are saved and become productive citizens and, yes, we lose some. But we have to try.
  7. Of couse UK fans are going to jump all over U of L's schedule as usual. But Jurich stated that has been tough to schedule non-conference opponents that are ranked. It is understandable. U of L is now a threat to beat you on any given day. .
  8. Ppphhhhuuuuullllleeeeeeezzzzzzzzz! All of UK's recruits are Rhode Scholars! NOT! U of L lost some good players in the secondary but also have some good ones with experience coming back. Good pick up for the Cards.
  9. Some grow up and some don't. Before you have the guy in jail or whatever, give him a chance. This is a new start in a different place. It is a gamble but someone has to gamble to turn kids around. Some make it some fall through the cracks. Mistake or not this will probably be his last stop. He has a chance to make the best of it. Coach Krag might be the coach to turn him around.
  10. They also have a really good coach. I said all along this team would be good when these current juniors got to be just that, juniors. It takes awhile. The Cats will be the real deal next season. If Morris stays, a top five team in my opinion.
  11. Why do you guys think U of L was going to struggle without Brohm. That is a very questionable statement. The Cards have a ton of experience coming back. The Cards recruiting has been solid the last three years. U of L may not win twelve game but they certainly shouldn't fall off the face of college football. Petrino, by all means, did not leave the cupboard bare. You know, most of the comments made about Brohm staying deals with draft position and money lost. I don't get the impression that means much to him. He loves college life, the University of Louisville and the city of Louisville. Loyalty, commitment and love of the college game. Priceless. Money doesn't always buy happiness and his character speaks for himself. Time will tell, but you know what, I think these situations work out for the better and I am sure Brian Brohm is prepared either way for what lies ahead.
  12. I am still trying to figure out the comment about U of L's program falling apart in an earlier post. Bush, with a good year, would be gone anyway. Brohm, every Card fan knew, was a possibility to leave. U of L has plenty of depth on both sides of the ball. They might not go 12-1 but still are good enough to win several games. Jurich has said it is hard for U of L to schedule ranked teams out of the conference because those programs now know U of L is a threat to beat them and that would hurt their chances in the BCS picture. For Saban to have offered Jeff Brohm the offensive coordinators job says something for him. Coach Krag did good by keeping him. U of L should be exciting to watch again on offense. With most of the offense back and some new guys coming in the Cards should be able to put points on the board.
  13. And what makes you think he still won't leave undefeated against his in-state rival? That is still a possibility.
  14. Clark won't be leaving, he is frustrated, but he knows he is getting about as much playing time as he deserves, on the other hand, Pitino knew Caracter was a liability. Cards fans gripe, but Pitino has basically recruited for the long haul. That means having some patience with this team. Yes, it was a gamble. But you have to take risks. Pitino and the Cards will perservere through this.
  15. Just how do you know that? You don't! Would anybody have predicted Bourbon County winning the title in '97? There is no sure thing. Get over it. Russell had their opportunities to win this game. It's a great story and made consolidation of those to programs much easier. Jaggers had a tougher task than most could imagine getting these guys to play together.
  16. Great post! I don't even know Bob Beatty. But as a coach myself, you gave the man the highest compliment you could give. Yes, he wins. But what he teaches those kids about life is more important. I was pulling for the Rocks. A lot of people didn't like that because I am a public education teacher. My grandson, however, goes to a private school. Maybe I can talk by daughter into sending him to Trinity. I was impressed.
  17. That would be Jimmy Reed. Wow, that would be a little surprising! Jimmy had some good years at Washington County. I could see him doing it. He knows the game and would be worthy of consideration. He was pretty quick in his day and started for the Wildcats back in the late sixties or very early seventies.
  18. I don't know where you think John Hardin has improved the last two or three games. They barely got by Nelson. Meade is clicking on all cylinders. The Greenwaves might surprise!
  19. How long did OJ play in Kentucky? I get tired of reading about him. He has played in Ohio and West Virginia the better part of his career. Is he related to TO?
  20. I am going to make it a point to go watch Mercer. They should make a run at the state title.
  21. Matt Tingle is one of the Nelson County lineman. He played in middle school at Washington County. Nice looking lineman with a little quickness. Nelson County has some talent. Bardstown just pounded two pretty decent football teams in the past two weeks. Bardstown should win but I wouldn't be surprised of an upset or a close game.
  22. Taylor made a little run to cut the lead 33-19 with a quarter to go,then little Shane Bueter ripped off a fifty-plus yarder for a TD. Washington County won 46-19.
