Mercer's Ford and Jackson each have over 200 yards rushing. Mercer did not attempt a pass play.

 

S Laurel's Bowling was 21/33 for over 200 yards and 1 TD. The Cardinals once again could not stop the run. They have to fix this, but Mercer is just that good.

Was wondering...because I saw Holmes play last night, and they looked horrendous in losing to Holy Cross.

Didn't know if Mercer was that good or if SL was not playing up to par.

I guess the shine is definitely off the Holmes win, for Holmes fans that is.

South Laurel's QB looked pretty good. He did a good job of scrambling and creating. I didn't realize he had that many yards passing.

 

Ford and Jackson are both special high school running backs. When Walker gets healthy and you throw him in the mix, it could be lethal.

Don't know about Pres., but put him somewhere in the cabinet. Marty would probably work, but "Jaggers"? Too many Mamas and Papas, but maybe in 10 or 15 years...Brown Sugar! Is it the coach, two talented teams and chemistry, or both? Unusual, and worthy of praise regardless. (Are you 3A?). Anyway, this team looks good after 2 games.

Nope...just looked it up to be sure....Mercer is 2A District 3. Whew...I was worried there for a minute!!

The only 4A team we should be discussing in this forum is the 4A team that Mercer just beat!!!!:sssh:

Mercer's enrollment with the merger is just over 900, as are a couple others that are currently playing in 2A (Western, Lone Oak, etc.). So technically, they have small 3A #s, not 4A. So, the next time, check your facts...

 

Secondly, if your assumption of Mercer being a 4A school playing in 2A were true, they still just beat a reigning 4A district champ 53-6....at least get your facts straight...
