How much speed does Newport have this season? That's a brand new turf field isn't it? That's great for you guys. I know I will make my way up I 75 for that one. I know it wont hurt Mercer playing on turf. It should be a great game.

Any word on Mercer's #33 Blake Arnold? I know he went out before halftime with a shoulder injury. Sure hope he is okay and ready for the game in two weeks.

I think Arnold has a dislocated shoulder, hopefully he will be back by Boyle County, if not they have the depth this year to recover from such a injury, what a difference a merger can make.

Donald Walker looked like it was killing him standing on the sidelines watching the game saturday night. He will be ready to run against Garrard from what I am hearing.

I could not agree more Nathan made it possible for these 2 gret backs to do what they did. Often we forget those that make the blocks.

Also agree that Lewis is great and seems to do a great job at keeping this team pumped up. He's the real deal. With size and talent no telling where he'll end up playing at the next level.

:thumb: Nathan Griffith has definitely been the unsung hero. It would be nice if he could get more than 1 carry in the first half of a ballgame. Don't you think? I sure hope the running backs for Mercer are giving Nathan the credit he deserves for blocking for them so they can get in the end zone - and the rest of offensive lineman too!

If mercer county doesn't win 2a this year something is wrong. They used that size of Mercer county and the athletic ability of Harrodsburg and made a dominating football team. They have rolled over there first 2 opponents who i must say haven't been great but still. They will roll over anyone this year. They hit you in the mouth and then run right at you. This team will be your 2A state champs.

No bold predictions here. Mercer will have to battle just to get to where the bog boys will be waiting. We seem to have a recent history of losing to Russell. So to be the best you have to beat the best. So that's the matchup I wanna see. You guys wore us down last year.
