How about players of the week on the play of the week? Highlands SR. QB, Tony Guidugli hooks up with Jr. WR, "Slick" Nick Buten for an unbreakable record with a 99.99 yard TD pass. A GREAT goal-line stand by HHS D sets it up...WOW! HHS outdistanced Madison Central 46-0.

An NCC dad told me that he thought HHS would win...but it won't be easy. Said BW is the type of team that when the game is over "you don't think they scored that many points". That tells me they lull you to sleep with execution. Nothing fancy. Birds better get focused and get the game face on. Remember what it felt like to have Dixie doing the victory dance in your house....don't let BW do it, too!! NOT IN OUR HOUSE!! GO BIRDS!!

I believe St. X has been ranked as high as the #2 team in the nation! No shame losing to that caliber of team...but what a life story if you pull the upset!! Also, as stated earlier, playoffs are a week away and the "2nd season" begins 0-0! I look for the Blue Colonels to circle the wagons in house and be a COMPLETELY different team for the playoff run. Now...if only some "supporters" would do likewise!

Clint Crawford DID make several FINE blocks downfield on some passes and punt returns! Sr. Jarred Frank made some outstanding defensive stands at noseguard that allowed the LBs to have free reign at the ballcarriers. One resulted in a huge sack by Sr. Nick Martin...a real trainwreck of a hit on the QB. TEAM D BAY-BEE!!!!

Way to go Birds! Can you "man up" to BW next week? One game for the Title. FOCUS! And you will be CHAMPIONS!!

I change my vote! Dale Mueller should be exempted from this award. It's a given year in and year out he would win it. MY VOTE goes to Coach Brossart of CovCath. For no other reason than tolerating the "situation" being dissed in another thread. I saw a hoops coach at HHS go through a similar situation some 30 years ago. It absolutely wore him, his family, and the team out. My prayers for strength are with you and your family Sir!
