  1. I remember coaching against St. Joe's Hoops team and Jake was 3 times as big as any player we had. He would get the rebound, turn, and just throw it down the floor to the guards for easy layups. Our kids would drive the lane and just bounce off of the "Great Wall of Kiernan"! (lol) Great kid, great family, wish him and his fellow Breds the BEST tonite, and may everyone have safe travels! Stay Warm...if possible!
  2. In his "youth" he played on the Muddogs Knothole City Champs team with fellow D-line mate, Adam Dempsey and about half of NCC's defense: Nate Rawe, Ben Paar, Mark Johnson, Logan Ferrara, and Chris Grosser. Pretty fair FB team for hardballers!! :ylsuper:
  3. We'll just putthat in the "you owe us one" column!
  4. Welz and Grubbs will garner D1 offers on size alone! Plus playing for a perennial championship contender, plus A LOT of film is circulating out there due to AC and Roller getting big time looks. Don't be surprised! Besides...won't this be Dale's biggest, fastest, strongest, most athletic team of all time??? (lol)
  5. SR., RB/PR Mark Kelly of NCC scored 6 of the 8 TD's in NewCath's 54-19 victory over DeSales. Kelly scored on runs of 8; 10; 8; 5; and 52 yards. He also took a punt back 49 yards for a score. He had 14 carries for 158 yds on the night. Plus an 82 yard KO return! No word on if he sold popcorn at halftime!
  6. I look for the Dynamic Defensive Duo of Trinity, Brock "the Rock" Messina and "White Lightning" Whiting, to step up and avenge the earlier season loss. Nothing would sting X more than to slip up in this one. The Rocks Roll in a close one 23-17.
  7. Isn't he part of that Ft. Thomas Smith human genome project? I heard they've reloaded the pipeline...but he's still a few years off! Jake should be one of the top lineman in NKY next year. Hunter Schlosser of HHS should be right there with him for "top doggie". The lineman don't get the pub/stats that the "glory guys" do, but they'd be nothing without them!!
  8. Someone mentioned CovLatin not getting any 6'6"/ 250 lb players...beside the point that they don't have a FB team, they DID get a guy named David Justice, who turned out to be a pretty fair athlete!! As for the HHS advantage...nobody has mentioned the tradition of playing deep into the playoffs every year gives extra practice/game time to kids. Comparing, a typical HS FB player by the end of his Soph yr has played 20-22 games. A HHS FB player has played 30games. (using the last 2 yrs as data). Our Sophs have JR experience. Big advantage for winning programs. What style offense does WC run? Wishbone, Veer, Dead T? What's their run to pass ratio? And most importantly, do they play incessant music betweeen every play? (lol)
  9. I nominate 6'1" / 255 lb SR, DE, Kody Rosenhagen of Ft. Thomas Highlands. His stalwart defensive efforts were key to the Bluebird victory over Johnson Central. HHS does not keep individual stats...it's a "team" thing in Ft. Thomas. But the "game changing moment" came when Rosie stripped, scooped and scored from 75 yards out to virtually lock the game up for the 'Birds in a hard fought 35-21 victory.
  10. ...because were always "shooting off" at the mouth !!:ylsuper::dancingpa:banana::laugh::thumb:
  11. Their backs were too good for that to be the case. ALL HAIL KODY-BEAR!!!
  12. Tony threw the ball last night like he did this summer in the camps. What a nice, nice deep ball he throws.
  13. I would also be remiss if I didn't mention the OUTSTANDING defensive game played by Oliver Head. Seemed Ollie was making every tackle in the first half...not good to have to do, but I love the way he HITS!! Way to go "O-Head" !!
  14. THIS is, IMHO, the reason HHS got the victory. JC did an outstanding job with the "belly second man". Their backs were rumbling unabated in the Bluebird secondary. If Will and Austin don't make the tackles, it's a score for sure! And if JC got the lead....it's a whole different scenario! "BEND BUT DON"T BREAK!!"
  15. Hunter Schlosser (JR), Tyler Combs (JR), Peter Bardgett (SR), Tyler Grubbs (JR) and Adam Dempsey (SR). Well done, doggies!!..or is it hoggies?? Brandon Roller, GREAT to see you show that Bluebird Pride and make the long trip to support your teammates only two days after surgery. I know you were missed  and I'm sure it inspired the boys to play harder.
  16. Was the game SRO?? It looks like they were 3 deep around the field in the pictures!
  17. I heard Florida State is looking at him! As was South Florida, Colorado State, Marshall, Louisville...and of course UC knows him from Gino & Ben.
  18. Tony Guidugli, QB 6'2" 215 lbs Passing 103 / 158 (65%) for 1850 yds 12 TD's 7 INT 99.9yds. Longest Rushing 91 / 323 yds 9 TDS. 36 yds Longest Mind you, in a LARGE percentage of HHS games Tony played 1/2 or less of the game.
