Hunter Schlosser would be a GREAT noseman! Gotta get him healthy and ready! Tyler Combs did an OUTSTANDING job this year stepping up at center...another year in the weight room and he will be a beast! The Grubb-man could be unstoppable...but see him as a "short-yardage" specialist. Not the speediest plus MUCH needed on the O-side. D1 in Grubby's future for sure...IF he keeps working!! He improved light years from beginning of the season to the end! Hope he spends the summer at FB camps not playing hoops! Don't forget Welz...big #86 logged alot of time on the D-line last year. Officer Dill will have PLENTY of parts to rotate and keep fresh next year!

Are you talking Spring Break again? :laugh: Seriously, SR. Jake Turner should also be in the mix for mound duties this year. Since his services to hoops were no longer needed, pre-season training should help him be ready right out of the gate!

I'll give you that there are a select few multi-sport stars for some schools. But it doesn't hurt to "play your bench" and let a kid have a lifetime memory playing in the all star game. And the regular season in hoops is just "seasoning" for the tourney at seasons end. There's no prize for winning a gabillion games and getting bounced in the first round of the districts.

I look for a close one tonite. Birds haven't been playing all that well and Colonels are starting to gel. That said, I ALWAYS look for HHS v. CCH to be close. Would love to see a Bluebird bench emptying blowout...but 48-45 Birds is my "feel".

To me it is an honor to be able to play in an all-star game of any sort. The young men should DEFINITELY play. Any hoops coach that holds it against an athlete for participating is not worth salt! The regular hoop season doesn't mean a thing...it's all about the tourney at seasons end!

Brandon was #19 in the program, but #1 in your heart!! Got injured on a sideline completion where the defender got his helmet right on Brandon's knee. He's working hard rehabbing and I'm glad he went to Texas to at least "meet & greet" the movers & shakers of the college FB world!

Is there an actual game being played? Or is it just a skills thing? ESPN is advertising an UnderArmor H.S. game being shown 9pm Sunday. Same thing?

Speaking of size! Young Jason Waldenmeyer is shaping up to be a real physical specimen! 6'1" / 210 (?). Big feet/big hands...good atleticism! Snaps the ball well...If he gets his brother Mitch's speed, he will be a frightening pass rusher! All depends how much he wants it and how hard he's willing to work!

I will agree with you on one count, Michael Laber was VERY underrated and a key to the success of Highlands football for the past couple years. As for TG, I guess I should have qualified my statement by saying POST season props. People will want to throw "stats" out to try and say this guy or that guy were better, but realize TG put up his numbers while playing 1/2 a game for most the NKY schedule. Some other guys got to run up their numbers playing deep into every game. And in cluthch situations, TG showed his true mettle time after time. I'm glad one of the "services" recognized him, that's all! :ylsuper:
