I heard that Highlands High School All State player Austin Collinsworth is gearing up for this National combine to be held on New Year's Day in San Antonio, TX. Good luck to Austin !!! Make us proud here in the state of KY.

 

This is a precursor to the US Army Senior National All Star game to be aired live on Jan 3rd.

 

My understanding is the top Juniors rated at the combine this year will be invited back next year to play in this prestigious HS event.

Brandon Roller of Highlands was also invited to this combine and will still attend even though he is with injury.

AC is a tremendous player and his stats back that up. You don't get selected as an all state 1st teamer your soph and junior year just on "name" alone. Somewhat disrespectful to the KID to even make a comment like that.

Austin Collingsworth is a nice looking athlete from a nice family. He has a bright future ahead of him.

 

But, we are all kidding ourselves if anyone thinks that the "Collingsworth" name doesn't factor in to him making all-state first team, at least, in his sophomore year.

Having a famous last name is definitely a double-edged sword. Some people will never give you proper credit because of it. On the other hand, it opens doors that otherwise might not be opened. As far as Austin what's-his-name is concerned, he is a fantastic athlete and deserves the accolades he receives, regardless of his last name.

No I don't!!! Both Collinsworth and Roller are exceptional athletes, they both deserve to be at this combine. It just shows what hard work and being dedicated can do for these young men. I can't believe you would even post something like that!! Do you feel better now that you have? We need to encourage young atheletes,and not rain on their parade. Show some CLASS!!!

If someone hasn't seen him play, then they are uneducated on the subject.. Hence you get "uneducated" comments. And I'm putting that mildly!!
