  1. Ehhh...It was the State Championship year of 1975...and it haunts me to this day!
  2. Holmes doesn't have depth???? Ya' gotta' be kidding me!
  3. Anytime I can break a Camel's back, I'll take it!!
  4. Heard he's trying to "sell" Tony Guidugli on being his next QB at MTSU
  5. Then the answer would be...no! Not until it's a blowout.
  6. Isn't there a State-Wide East-West game being played the same week in Bowling Green??
  7. Heard Coach Franklin is interested in Tony G.! And BYU has requested tape of Tony!!! Has anyone from NKY EVER played at BYU?? Good Luck, Tony...show them some "Big Love" from NKY! ..anyone get the HBO reference??
  8. Mean Machine Folsom Prison 1978
  9. The Kues family permeates all of NKY. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this difficult time.
  10. Rumor has it that AC was "the Dude" at the Sweetheart Dance in a PINK suit!! Obviously, he's a big supporter of breast cancer awareness!! :sssh:
  11. He could play a VERY NASTY safety, too!
  12. A lot of those boys with "size" now may not have "size" in 3 yrs!
  13. Absolutely correct! How could I have forgotten those gents? Early Alzheimer creepin' in on me!!! They were big time contributors!
  14. " Winner, winner, chicken dinner!!" Great job Matthew G.!!! And to all the Breds! Sounds like it was an "instant classic" type game! Keep the mojo going, baby!!
  15. I just don't like when student sections "over cheer" the opponents girl cheerleaders. I think it's classless. Other than that...have at it!
  16. How come no one from Highlands is complaining about the refs? Haven't seen much hoops this year, but it seems whenever I see Holmes play they get what the NBA called "Jordan rules". Lots of walking, body contact on block shots, and uncalled hand checking get allowed for them that other teams don't get away with. JMHO. Congrats to the Dawgs! A very workman-like game! If they had big-game intensity last night it would have been ugly! Best talent in 9th region! Good news for Birds: Grubworm can be a presence inside if given the ball. Saw him working hard to post up and lock the block without being rewarded. Watson is a Dennis Rodman rebounder! Great job by Bennie tonite! Works HARD! Birds will need to get something from the outside. A lot of that has to go to the credit of the Holmes D. Birds can definitely be there at the end this year with a couple breaks! Good to see former HHS coaches John Messmer and Kenny Shields in attendance last night! Kenny looked great! (Must be getting ready to go on a book tour! lol) Also spotted former Holmes/UK great Dickie Beal in the house...still looks like he could play! Also, a "gaggle" of NCC eyes were looking at the Dawgs' & Birds for games down the road! And I agree with the poster who previously posted about no student sections?? They all must have stayed home to study for the ACT !! LOLOLOLOLOLOL.
  17. PVS is a player. I agree with TBG. Every game I saw him in, he was a STUD! Opponents knew if they took him out of the equation, there wasn't much left. Thus, if PVS were on a more balanced team talent-wise, he would have REALLY shone.
  18. I see only Austin Collinsworth, all-american boy, as being the only two-way player right now. Brnado Roller could...but it's dependent on how the knee responds. He might only be "situational" two-way. But heck, Adam Dempsey wasn't on the defensive radar at this time last year. Lots of things can and will happen between now and 1st kick-off!
  19. I would LOVED to see Tony Guidugli bangin' the boards for the Birds in this one. He knows how to get under the Dawgs skin and out of their game! Would have been interesting.........
  20. I look for Hunter Schlosser of Highlands to be a "MANSTER" on the O-line this year! (1/2 man + 1/2 monster). Run that counter, baby!! Who ya' rootin' for?
  21. I believe committments are verbal and non-binding. Signings (letter of Intent) bind an athlete to attending that institution to play that sport.
  22. No! If you're an absolute stud, schools aren't going to let a little thing like grades get in the way of winning! Seriously, at the D1 level there are minimums. And if you don't meet them...you can go Prep school or JUCO. And then after 1-2 yrs. you can re-recruit for D1 (2 yrs eligibility left). Lower divisions place more emphasis on grades as they form "packages" which include grants. Grades can definitely effect the amount of $$ offered. All that said, Tony G. does not have any problem academically. It's a situation on finding the proper fit of athlete and college. If his heart is set on the big show...he may have to take a circuitous route. Maybe go JUCO and put up big #'s. He's not played a lot of reps. Only started this year and was on the bench most the games (blowouts). But we all saw what he did in the big games. Big time players make big time plays in big time games. (see HHS v. Bryan Station/ 5A State Final/ Border Bowl KY v. TN). Good Luck Tony....MVP, MVP, MVP!! :notworthy:
