gametime Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 He'll be continuing his career at Georgetown. Congrats...
theguru Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 I think PVS has the potential to be a phenomenal player at Gtown. Congrats!

tdyballgame Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 I think a lot of schools missed out. Unfortunately he was a product of a "not so good" team. Wasn't he on Michigan State's radar at one time? I hated to see happen to him what happened this season. I know I'm going to get some heat, but if he plays for a State Championship team this year then he has his pick of schools. Against Highlands, he was one of the best players on the field. Probably top 3. My opinion of course.
theguru Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 I disagree, your view suggests the college scouts don't know what they are doing. We need to put our cards on the table, PVS is a fabulous talent but he didn't always show up to play. That is why the D1 schools were hesitant. Talent wise PVS is all that and a bag of chips.

I coached Pat in baseball and trust me, he always showed up to play. Maybe his situation this past year had a lot to do with it. That's a shame. To that, I say he got cheated.

Great players excel on bad teams all the time. I think the NCC game is proof of just how good PVS can be.
Hit Catch Throw Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 What position did Georgetown sign him at.
Henry521 Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Congrats to Pat Van Sant. Truely a terrific athlete and glad to see him continue his football career.
DMZ76 Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 PVS is a player. I agree with TBG. Every game I saw him in, he was a STUD! Opponents knew if they took him out of the equation, there wasn't much left. Thus, if PVS were on a more balanced team talent-wise, he would have REALLY shone.
Falcon85 Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 He was not a product of a "not so talented" team. Pat simply did not shine in the games where he should have, hence the hesitance to sign him to a big school. I think Georgetown is a great fit for him and he will excel there! Congratulations Pat!

Fishhead Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Wow! Huge for G'town. Plus the added attraction of playing close to home.
Clyde Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Congrats to PVS. Gtown will be a great fit for him. Which side of the ball will he play?
Smoke Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 I'm very suprised PVS ended up playing at Georgetown. Thought he would sign with at least a D1AA school. He was FAST, physical, and could truly dominate a game. This post is not a bash on the Daniels kid from Beechwood, but I read in the paper that he was offered by Wofford and somehow PVS wasn't which doesn't make sense to me. Don't get me wrong, Daniels can flat out play as I witnessed duringt the CCH game, but all along I had heard Wofford was very interested in PVS and then I'm assuming didn't offer him? Just can't believe those type of schools passed on this kid as he is an absolute stud.
