  1. Tony runs as fast as he has to...that's the way he is. He accelerates when needed. If not needed, he cruises. Especially when he's looking downfield and passing. He's had the luxury of an excellent O-line that gives him "leisure time" to throw the ball. He can haul it when needed...and is tough to bring down!
  2. Teddy is a FINE LB and plays with the heart of a lion! Not quite as fast as Roller but is very nimble in avoiding blockers and is a sure tackler! Now, If your talkin' Ted, Sr...well, let's just say "the Bear went over the mountain"!
  3. Was that a FAT joke? If so, HEY! I resemble that remark!!
  4. Great news! Hate to see any kid hurt playing something they love.
  5. If HHS does not stop the "belly second-man" we will have a LONG bus ride home. From what I've seen/heard from JC, they execute this extremely well and their QB hides the ball really well. Their backs are big, fast and they block well downfield. This very well could be a MAJOR AMBUSH!! Focus Birds, FOCUS!!!!
  6. Pretty bad...ACL, MCL + miniscus tear. Surgery scheduled for Wednesday is what I'm hearing. My prayers go out for a successful procedure.
  7. Now which one of Santa's elves were you?....Oh yeah, "Smiley"!!
  8. WHY? So they can eat Turkey instead of Crow??? Easy, easy it's a joke, a joke!
  9. Is it the John Travolta move from SNF or the "Bump" ???
  10. Brandon Roller will be SORELY missed. He IS one of the TOP LB's in the STATE. But LB is a strong area at HHS. Blake Newman, Travis Alford, Jake Turner, Teddy Abner, Mr. Consistency-Michael Laber, Nick "the STICK" Martin, David Hogue, possibly Oliver Head or even Josh Conner provide a wealth of LB talent and experience to step up and shine. TE will be ably manned by Newman, Hogue, and big #86 Kyle Welz. Brandon...it hurts deeply to be without you, and NOBODY feels as bad about it as you do (outside of Mom and Dad). But I have every confidence that you will be back next year terrorizing offenses and D-backfields the way ALL ROLLER'S DO and HAVE DONE!! God speed, young man!
  11. With that kind of attitude/commitment, Ballard will soon be joining the ranks "the other guys". Good Luck Coach!
  12. ...and at that point the game becomes meaningless. I was very glad to see the kids gather as one and ask the Lord to watch over one their football fraternity brothers...which He did!! Maybe the info Coach got was the best available at that time. I don't know. But all things are possible in the hands of the Lord. May he give His healing touch to Brandon Roller to return to form as soon as he can. He will sorely be missed!...and let's leave the conversation about #44 and the scuffle alone. I'm sure the young man just had a moment he regrets, and thank goodness none of the Bird players got ejected.
  13. I believe, in honor of one of his FTJFL coaches, he was applying the "Malachi - Crunch" !! :thumb:
  14. Congrats and good luck to B-dub! And a special congrats to Josh Montooth on a fine, fine HS career! Way to go 'Goose!!
  15. Is it a requirement that your first name begin with an A ?
  16. Just want to congratulate and wish best of luck to former HHS frosh player and now senior stud for Ludlow, Josh Montooth! Play your heart out tonite and leave no regrets. For maybe the last time..."TURN THE MONGOOSE LOOSE!!!!!"
  17. I believe it's higher seed...and if tied, then it's odd v. even year travels.
  18. Maybe this should be another thread...but playoff "spirit' just doesn't seem to be there. Back in the day, the town was agog with banners, stores all had their windows painted up, and there was a "buzz" through the town. With the "everybody makes the playoffs" and the playoffs lasting half as long as the season, I believe the spirit gets lost in the process...it's no longer "special".
  19. Your kid must be a freshman! (LOL) They'll be the only ones "freezing"...except if they're smart enough to huddle on the heaters!
