That was ugly! It was weird seeing that again, because it happened literally right under my nose; and I didn't remember the Ashland guy taking him out like that.

The tackle wasn't dirty, but one can just imagine the force hitting that knee if the cleat was holding the carpet when the impact came.

 

I don't want to start yet another grass vs. turf war...but I think the traction on artificial surfaces is often too good. The give in sod or the slip/slide on frozen or muddy ground can be a knee saver (even if it's tough on tailbones).

 

Here's hoping the young man heals uneventfully... :thumb:
