Any word on the Highlands-Conner frosh score?

I believe it was 35-12, Highlands over Conner. Baby Birds play a very good Beechwood team next Thursday for the frosh championship. The game is at 6:00 at Highlands.

Congrats to the Birds on another nice win on their Road Tour of Boone County. Connor has a nice size facility and the individual player's banners are a nice touch. Connor's #42, #21 and #4 as well as the BIG Lines will be a major 6A powerhouse in the future. Conner scored on a dominating opening drive, pounding it in at the goal line.

 

The Birds returned the kickoff to the 5-yarder via Sheehan. A couple of plays and the Birds were up 7-6. Later a deep route by the Oz and the Birds were up 14-6. The Birds ran the table the rest of the game, scoring with both Offenses. Defense held on 4th down situations and forced a couple of turnovers. The Birds' rotation is deep finishing the night with the win. This class will bring many impact players to the Varsity/JV next season.

Way to go Birds! Can you "man up" to BW next week? One game for the Title. FOCUS! And you will be CHAMPIONS!!

Good win for the baby Birds heading in to next week's championship with Beechwood

Sheehan has unbelievable speed. I am interested to know who has developed this season outside of the usual suspects like True, Quillen, New, etc.

 

Lineman? Defensive players?

Who all scored for the birds?

The Birds will have their hands full next week. Having watched both teams play, Beechwood mathes up well in this game. Having this game at home, HHS would give the edge to the Birds (on paper that is). But I would say that both of these teams will be poised for a battle.

HHS has home field advantage combined with True, Quillen, New & the big line will control the BW D. From the couple of times I saw BW this season their arm tackling won't even slow True down. Plus BW hasn't seen a D like the birds this season. They won't be able to stop the Bird Blitz. The HHS depth will play a factor in the 4th quarter. BW will put up a fight but the Birds just have too much for them and they will prevail as Champions. Good luck to both teams.

An NCC dad told me that he thought HHS would win...but it won't be easy. Said BW is the type of team that when the game is over "you don't think they scored that many points". That tells me they lull you to sleep with execution. Nothing fancy. Birds better get focused and get the game face on. Remember what it felt like to have Dixie doing the victory dance in your house....don't let BW do it, too!! NOT IN OUR HOUSE!! GO BIRDS!!
