I agree with this poll!! The next week will provide us with some more insignt as to which teams may be worse or better than rated!

Congrats to the Devils!! Now I'll give them credit for the win against Fern Creek, because while Fern Creek may have a spotted record, they have played some stiff competition. As for Seneca, I don't know if they could beat half the 16th Region right now they way they are playing! Ha! This week will tell us how far the Devils have come. BB is very solid and Bryan Station is as well. But regardless, it is obvious that the Devils are rising quickly in the 16th poll. Should be a great season!

First, I'm sure the Elder fans like in photo #2, just don't realize that the only difference between them and us is the river that divides us! Ha! Appalachian posters aren't offended, because no one in the Appalachian area dresses like this so why be offended? Second, CovCath should have been able to win this game. It could have just been one of those nights, lack of preparedness, intimidation, or any of a dozen other reasons. But Elder is not really any better than CovCath in my opinion. Third, as to the refs, each area has its own style, geez, even each officiating crew within the same region sometimes has their own style. You have to scout your opponent and know the style that the refs allow and be PREPARED for it before the game. Fourth, CovCath needs to forget and move on to the next game!

Also, I am glad to see Russell starting to do better!! The 16th started out with Morgan and Boyd at the top with Fairview close behind. Now, we are starting to see Russell move into the top group along with Ashland and Elliott. This should make for a good regional!

That may be true too, BUT there would be no way Russell would have been able to beat Seneca the last two years!! Seneca was very good the last two years! That is why I said that they must be way down! This isn't anything against Russell, because I doubt that anyone in the 16th could have beaten Seneca last year!

Congrats to Elliott!!! I for one have known how dangerous this Elliott County team can be. But what they have lacked is consistency! It would appear that they have now found it! LC isn't great by any means, but they play hard, so I know that Elliott had to earn this win!

I hope you are right! They will need it! But is there any particular reason that you say that?

Maybe so, BUT do you know how down Rose Hill has been the last couple of years!!!!!! Congrats to the Royals on finally knocking off a school that has a good name for athletics!! Rose Hill will be a very competitive team in the next few years IF they can keep all of their players!!

Congrats to the Tigers!! This is why Classes in basketball shouldn't exist!! The little schools can beat the bigger schools sometimes!!

Much closer than I thought it would be! Congrats to the Mason County for giving South Laurel all they wanted!!

Sounds like a game the Lions could have and should have won! But Bob Jones is a good team and the Lions just let it slip away! It would have been great if they could have given Owens a win to go with his scoring record!!

Congrats to the Cougars!! 8-0 is a great start!! But remember, the Cougs are going to have to stay focused and keep up the pressure on their opponents! They have some tough northern Kentucky teams coming up and then there is Boyd and Elliott County which they will have to face!

Congrats to Owens!! You are certainly carrying the Lions this year!! Keep up the good work and don't forget to play as a team and you guys will do well!!

Congrats to the Bobcats! Apparently JC doesn't have the consistency yet that we were hoping they had found. To get outscored by 16 in the 4th quarter is not a good sign, unless you are playing Scott County or someone like them!

Congrats to Russell for a game well played out of Region!! Seneca must be way down this year!!

I'll admit that I missed this one, but it is not because Russell is so good right now, it is because Seneca is so bad!! I knew that Seneca was bad, but I didn't realize that Seneca was that bad. The current Russell team is not one of the best in the 16th, but once the real Russell team is back they should be a contender (but not the favorite)!

I don't see this hurting Morgan any at all. Morgan seems to play as good on the road as they do at home! Sometimes even better!!

You are absolutely right Nets! I guess human nature is to let up when you get a lead, but against good teams and with the 3, a big lead can be gone in mere minutes!! I have seen teams blow double digit leads in less than 1 minute. But it is hard to instill this into the players. If Morgan can develop the killer instinct, which many teams lack, then they will be even more of a force to be dealt with this season!

If you are predicting Russell by 5-8 over Seneca, you must be dreaming!! I will acknowledge that Seneca is down, but Russell is not that good, especially right now! I seriously doubt that Russell could have beaten Dunbar even if they had a 100% healthy team. Seneca should be a little easier, but I don't think that the Devils can take them right now. If I end up wrong, I'll say so, but I don't think that I will be.

Congrats to the Tigers for pulling themselves together and coming back from double digits in an out of state tourney!!!

I don't think that there is anything wrong with taunts or cheers (ie. "hicks", "river rats", "soap on a rope", and so forth). Nor do I think that taunts toward players in particular is wrong. What is over the limits is cursing or swearing. As to individual players, such taunts as "daddy's boy" like they use on coach's sons are okay. But to call someone gay as Wireman said is a little too far!!

BB will win this one by 15-20 easy!!
