GOREDDEVILS Posted December 23, 2005 Author Posted December 23, 2005 Owens had a Monster game had like 53 points with an ally oop and a few dunks.
kinglion Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 Absolutely one of the best played high schools games between 2 teams that I have seen in a while. Owens breaks Frank Lee's scoring record with 53 in a losing effort. The Bell kid from Bob Jones has to be one of the best shooters I have seen. He put the ball up from anywhere on the court with confidence, and mde most of his shots. I kind of thought that Pratt would put Owens on teh Bell kid at the end and make someone else beat you, he had already proven all night that he could score. But that is why I am sitting in the stands and not on the bench. It is always easy to second guess from there.
GOREDDEVILS Posted December 23, 2005 Author Posted December 23, 2005 Boyd played them tough considering they have 1,818 students.Bob Jones is the Biggest high school in Alabama and would be considerd a top 10 in enrollment in 4a in ky. So out of those 1,818 you have a heck of alot of athletes to choose from.
Tiny Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 Good game for both teams,The Owens kid was unstoppable 53 points breaks the scoring record.Agian BC had a 11 point lead and lost it.Great job Antonio Owens on your 53 point game and breaking the scoring record. :dancingpa : :dancingpa
kinglion Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 Tough loss for Boyd it sounds like. yeah it was a tough loss, but they have no reason to hang their heads. Bob Jones will win alot of games this year. BC had a chance to win it at the end with 7 seconds to go, but had a costly turnover while only down 1 point.
Nothingbutnet Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 Sounds like a game the Lions could have and should have won! But Bob Jones is a good team and the Lions just let it slip away! It would have been great if they could have given Owens a win to go with his scoring record!!
AshlandTomcat41 Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 53! Wow! Man a lot of guys in the 16th are having some big nights!
spindoc Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 Congratulations to Owens, 53 will be tough to top. Hate that they lost. Bet he'd trade the record for a win. Quality player! Very glad to see Coach Pratt having success also.
kinglion Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 Should have won, but they let big lead go away again. The players started to look tired near the end of the game, as Pratt didn't substitute very much. Where it really showed was in the free throw shooting, where Boyd was only 50% at 12 for 24. This stat was probably the difference in the game.
