I'M BACK!
I predicted the Cougs by 13. Nice win against a district opponent on their home floor. Looks like the defensive intensity was there again tonight. Any stats?

Caveman
McCowan with 15 led the cougars followed by Peyton with 11. Morgan struggled shooting the ball tonight but the defense was there as usual. Perry was not a happy camper at the end due to sloppy press offense although the game was never in jeopardy. West played very hard and gave a fine effort.
mountainwarrior
Morgan seems to be rolling. Got to be considered one of the best teams in the mountains. What does Nets have to say about the game? He always has good stats and evaluations.

Good D can keep you in a game when the shots aren't falling which sounds like the situation tonight!
2 Hand Set Shot
Morgan has a couple really talented coaches in Coach Perry and Coach Wood (football). They get the most out of their teams. Both did an amazing job of turning both around.

Nets
Morgan County grinds out a win, however, it wasn't pretty the last few minutes of the game. That seems to be the trend with this Cougar team, in that they get up 16-18 points and instead of putting the dagger in their opponents they make it closer than what it should be. The same thing happened vs. Sheldon Clark in which the Cougs were up 25 points only to have it trimmed to 15 before winning by 21. Morgan County needs to find the killer instinct and if they have teams down 15-20 points, they need to finish them off. Outside the final quarter, Morgan Co. played well defensively. Guard Derrick Young is proving why he may be the 16th regions best defensive player. Held high scoring Casey Jones to 4 first half points and Young's physical strength is overwhelming, what a huge addition he has made this season. Blake McCowan had a double double 15 and 10. Katlin Haney played solid with 9 points, 6 assists, and 10 rebounds. Nathaniel Peyton had 11 points. Cougars shot 48% from the field, below their blistering season average of 55%. Overall, a good win against a district opponent on their home floor. The Cougars are road warriors, as they have had only 1 game at home this season so far and that was the 1st game. The Cougars won't return home until January 13th. So until then they will live out of a suitcase. Morgan County plays at Menifee County TOMORROW Thursday December 22nd. On some schedules it had the 23rd, however it will be played tomorrow the 22nd.
