  1. Looks like I started something:devil: :dancingpa Lots of people seem to be excited to see this potential change occur. Never underestimate a Yellow Jacket............. SouthernCross will keep us posted.
  2. From the returning players I saw this season I would think brighter days are on the horizen for the Jackets. A lot of young players who played their hearts out against South Laurel in the district. I agree, given a little time and some hard work the Jackets can again be a threat in the All A and progress to where they can play competitively against the bigger region schools.
  3. Sounds like a good opportunity for a young coach. A good facility and a strong academic program. They have produced alot of coaches over the years that have went on to pretty good careers..Williard Farris, Rich Prewitt, Alan Leforce..not a bad place to Coach.
  4. Jay Lunce, I doubt he would leave the sunny South.
  5. I think there will be several changes within the 13th region in the next few months. Seems to be alot of jockeying for position.
  6. 1. South 2. Clay 3. Bell 4. Cawood 5. North 6. Barbourville 7. Corbin 8. Lynn Camp
  7. Rumor has it the Jacket Administration has made a decision to change their head boys basketball coach. I was wondering if this was true or simply a rumor?
  8. ukbell14 have you kissed Coach Wright's championship ring or what.....lol
  9. I hear he is interested in leaving and getting back closer to his roots. Would not surprise me to see him at Williamsburg next season.
  10. South won due to having alot of weapons and their hot shooting. Corbin did not adjust to the physical style of play and as a result South was able to establish a very big lead. Hats off to the Corbin players for showing the resolve and pride to fight til the end. Winning the district is but one goal. The bigger prize awaits next weekend. Keep you head up Hounds, find a way to win a couple of games and maybe you will get another shot at the Cards.
  11. Congrats to Coach P and the Hounds. Good defense and team work. Get ready for South they are a different beast.
  12. Great win for the Campers. Way to go Coach Pennington, you are the man. Beat Barbourville and go to the region as a winner.
  13. At least it is finally coming to an end. Wburg will play South and Corbin next season according to their Supt. He informed both schools this week. That would imply a new leader and one who thinks it is in the bet interest of the program to compete. The playing or not playing was not an issue in a lean towards a new direction. Summer camps, conditioning, practice time and overall coaching seem to be the deciding factors. No way that Wburg team I saw last night should have only won 2 games. They have some talented kids. Something went astray somewhere along the line.
  14. I think Chris put an end to his basketball career a week or ago, I will not go into the details, but it was not due to injury.
  15. Williamsburg's kids played hard, I applude their efforts. It was obvious their kids enjoyed the challenge of playing a team like South. Too bad their Coaches did not give the opportunity to play South a couple more times this season. If you compete you want to play against the best and see where you stack up. Now, sometimes we fall short, so is life. No shame in the margin of defeat. Hats off to the Williamsburg players who battled their tails off, thumbs down to the decision that said these kids could not compete against the defending state champions. They lost the game, but showed tremendous courage and pride. The players South has are just better than most everyone in the state.
  16. I think he would look nice in a school close to Lynn Camp. Nice fit to compliment a terrific bunch of young guns.
  17. I like those picks. Guess we will have to see what happens. If Corbin only beats Whitley by 17 then it will be hard to unseat South as the favorite.
  18. If I were him I think I would look to get out of there and go someplace where I could play on a good team and improve my skills enough to play college ball.
  19. Is Miller staying around or is he weighing his options. The kid is talented.
  20. 1. Marshall County 2. University Heights 3. Owensboro Catholic 4. Warren Central 5. John Hardin 6. Doss 7. Male 8. Shelby County 9. Cov Cath 10. Pendleton County 11. Scott County 12. Boyle County 13. Corbin 14. Leslie County 15. Paintsville 16. Morgan County Region 2
  21. What does everyone think about this big rivalry game between the Tigers and the Panthers? Central seems to be in a big tail spin this season, players quitting and a knack for losing big leads have led to a 2nd consecutive weak season for the Panthers. Bville seems to have hit a rut as well. Early in the year the Tigers were mentioned as a team to challenge South Laurel. Now it seems they are not even the favorite to win their district. Will Dinky add another runner up trophy to the case? When all is said and done Bville will advance to take on the Lions of Pineville in the finals.... Bville 64 Knox Central 51 :scared:
  22. It is recommended that everyone have an annual checkup with their family optometrist......lol I am sure Larry could use the extra business.
  23. I wonder the same thing at times. Seems like our region has got so used to non athletic moves once they have one happen in front of them they panic and blow the whistle....lol....... Sad thing is most of our better ones are not gettin any younger.....these newbies need some serious training to get up to the level of other regions. :walk:
  24. OBI won by 3, no other details available other than the Mountaineers were ahead by 18 points before the Colonels narrowed the gap.
