Lynn Camp 52 Pineville 50

Featured Replies

 Saw it coming but just really turn the other cheek to the idea of losing to Lynn Camp. I hate this for the boys and it looked like they really took it hard. I am really going to miss seniors Blake Hensley, Derek Rosenbalm, Brad Venable, and Robert Daniels. Hensley and Rosenbalm have helped turn this program around and have been excellent on court leaders for their far younger teammates. Fortunately for most of these boys they have along time left in the maroon and gold, so don't let this weigh on your minds too long. I really look foward to seeing Dustin Day and James Strange back on the hardwood next year. Horrible ending to a great year but remember boys you brought more pride and excitement to this town than anything has in quite a while.

Well said!

Big time shocker!! I didn't think Lynn Camp had it in them. Good win Campers and congrats Pineville on the great year.

I said the other day that LC can play with most teams in this region, if they play together, and tonight they played a great team game, and played 4 quarters something they didn't do the first time these two teams played. I thought LC feeded off the play of Freshmen Jonah Mitchell, who played as well as I have seen him. Adam Bray, Cody Dixon, Nathan Tanner, and Joe Siler also played very well on both ends of the floor. Big win for LC advancing to the District finals, and I think to the schools first visit to the region. Congrats to LC and Coach Pennington on his biggest win to date as coach of the Campers.

Huge win for Lynn Camp..............you may as well go ahead and beat Barbourville in the finals.

Congratulations to Pineville on a great season!

I hate to see Pineville bow out this way. So close. I have enjoyed watching them both times I've seen them this year. I wish my Owls had a player like Day. This sophomore has a bright future.

AGREE! Good game by both teams, Day is a monster inside, must weigh 250 and about 6'6, he and Dixon battled all night. The freshman for Lynn Camp (Mitchell) was a huge plus for LC,passed the ball where it should go and hustled all over the floor until he fouled out. Good to see Dixon can two free throws with about 7 seconds left to seal the game, times like this is why players practice hundreds and hundreds of ft. to be ready when the time comes he also ruled the backboards over Day in the second half. IMO this was only a small upset LC has a good team and could very well beat B'ville with the effort they gave tonight

Great win for the Campers. Way to go Coach Pennington, you are the man.

Beat Barbourville and go to the region as a winner.

Pineville is the weakest 20 win team in the 13th region, their schedule really set them up for failure in a post season where its win or go home. Most of the college coaches have figured out that the stronger a regular season you have, even with some losses will pay big dividends when it comes to the post season.

Congrats to LC also.

This is why you play the games, anything can happen.

Wowzers at the score!!! Sorta expected this though. I totally agree with the above statement. I said all year that P'ville was greatly improved, but fairly overrated.

First of all let me say I appreciate what you do for our country, but you really have some issues you need to work out with Coach Strange himself. You never did watch Pineville play (I understand why but still) so how do you know they are overrated. What happened to Pineville was they were looking at Barbourville instead of Lynn Camp, that had nothing to do with the schedule. We all saw what happen when Pineville was only focused on Lynn Camp back in January. Give credit to Lynn Camp because they came out and took advantage of the situation and they were rightfully rewarded for their accomplishment (they get to go to Clay Co.). But again I ask whatever you have against Coach Strange, because of what he did at Bell Co., take it up with him don't talk bad about players.

What I stated was that "Pineville is the weakest 20 win team in the 13th region"

Lets see if this stands up.

The 4 teams with 20 wins in the 13th are Barbourville,South,Clay, and Pineville. Rank them anyway you want. So how did Pineville do when they played any of these teams? They only played Barbourville 2 losses. They played Eastern out of the 7th region lost. They lost to Garrard county whos record was 5-19.

How about other teams within the Region with winning records.

Corbin 17-9

Lynn Camp 15-10

Jackson County 15-14

Berea 15-13 11th Region.

Bullit East 14-13 6th Region

That counts for 5 of the 22 wins this season the other 17 wins were against teams with losing records.

Evarts x2 3-21

Red Bird x2 12-14

Williamsburg x2 2-18

Bethlehem 4-22

Whitley 6-21

Knox 6-20

Model 7-19

Oneida 10-16

Middlesboro 11-18

Cumberland 9-14

Harlan 13-13

3 wins vs teams from TN unsure on their records.

So after all that I would have to say that Pineville was the weakest 20 win team in the region. No malice intended.
