  1. This group of seniors should already had a record win season during their sophomore year, but Lynn Camp upset them in the first round of districts. I really doubt they are going to let Lynn Camp do the samething to them again. Playing poorly could be a result of many factors, not handling the Saturday game well, or going for win #23 getting to them. And about today's game being a reason for a team to feel good about an upset, that could be said about any team. Just try to be positive to a team that has overcame so much when they do something good like what they accomplished today (even though it doesn't seem like it was too pretty).
  2. Knox is definately playing really good ball right now. It helps having momentum with you in the post season.
  3. Don't know much about the game, but this is a big win. 23 wins makes this the most wins Pineville has got in a single season, so thats nice to see. Also beating North Laurel means this group of seniors have beat everyone in the region at least once except for South Laurel, who they haven't had an opprotunity to play.
  4. Did you watch the Bell game at Pineville last year? Charlie had a water bottle chucked at him, I doubt he would help Pineville.
  5. Depending on how next year goes, he might graduate Pineville's winningest player.
  6. Gosh Les, we use to get along so well. No look at us, always fighting.:argue: We need to work on our communication skills.
  7. I didn't expect this one to be this close. I'm sure there was a little bit of a hangover after beating Pineville the night before. What seed did Cawood get for the 52nd?
  8. Pineville was up by 6 so its not like KC was running away with this game. Both teams played very well, Pineville just came up a bit short.
  9. I know Corbin is young, and Crawford was out for awhile, but he is back. But I really don't agree with you using Pineville as an example. Pineville lost a player in the preseason, who I guarantee would had made a huge difference in tonight's game and the season. I understand the point your trying to make but when it comes to real obstacles, don't bring Pineville into it.
  10. Refs don't get them off, he has no choice but to take matters into his own hands. I heard somebody say once, "play the game that your in, not how it should be." If they are letting them put the hands on you, then you should be able to get them off.
  11. Your bluegrasspreps name explains it all. Really both are great teams, I'm confident in saying we will see them play again.
  12. Ok I know I said I wouldn't say anything else about the game, but I lied, this is the last I'll say. But I really think Cashen should start for Corbin. He is a smart player and just does alot of stuff alot of people don't notice to help them. Thats that, and I'm out of this thread.
  13. Because of the rules of this website I can't say anything I want about the game. I can say Strange showed me tonight why he is playing the best ball of any individual in the region. This is my last post on anything about this game, or Pineville and Corbin. Both are great teams and I think everyone on this board hopes to see them play each other again.
  14. Yea, I think that changed Pineville's defensive strategy completely. When he went out one less shooter. What's the 49th District Tourney look like?
  15. I know this belongs in the game thread but I figured I would address this issue since its already on here. I'm sure he would have made an impact, but the story for Pineville's season is find a way to win, no matter what happens I think Pineville would have pulled this one out.
  16. I agree, Clay Co. has a legit shot in the post season because of their defense. Very nice team.
  17. I think the score is wrong on the thread, I believe it was 45-40. But the bench showed me alot tonight. That means alot if your a Pineville fan. Its hard for 5 players to bring it every night, and tonight a couple of starters struggled but John Widner, Tyler Tuttle, and Jesse Fuson really came in and played big minutes. But Pineville did what they've done all year and found a way to win.
  18. Then why was it last year when Pineville was losing in mid-January winning was important. Now that the Lions are 18-2... January is meaningless. Now don't get me wrong Les, I admire your coverage of 13th Region basketball and you do alot to pubilize kids from a region that is usually looked over. But I really do feel like people take it personal whenever Pineville does good, I hope not but thats the vibe I get from several post from several people. But I have to agree with you in basketball the only thing that counts is the post season.
  19. Thats too funny. Pineville keeps proving they deserve respect, and people keep explaining away their success. But honestly I don't think Coach Strange or his boys care for what people say anyways.
  20. They play Harlan tomorrow at Lynn Camp at 7, I believe. I hope this game and hopefully a win tomorrow will quite the people who have been down on the Lions despite being 18-2. But then again, I don't think these kids pay too much attention to what other people say... they just play.
  21. I've said it before, and I'll say it again... Pineville is a veteran ball club and has one of the better coaches in the state, when it matters they will be fine.
  22. I really think Knox Central has a shot at an upset. I'm not saying they are a for sure win, but I really think KC has a legit shot. Knox brings a big line-up with alot of talent. Any other thoughts?
