  1. Untill officiating can step up there might be a need to add officials.
  2. Congratulations and I look foward to watching you play the Mountain Lions this Friday.
  3. Awsome basketball by both teams. Congrats to Hensley, Strange, and Day on getting the All Tournament team from Pineville. The Mountain Lions have alot they can improve on and I'm sure J.D. Strange will have every thing perfect by the time district rolls around. As for the game this was a very good expirence for the young Mountain Lions but I wished I could have watched seniors Hensley and Rosenbalm play at Richmond. Congrats to Barbourville on winning the 13th Region ALL "A" again and I know you will represent our region well.
  4. Tonight Pineville was faced with an obstacle they probably hadn't faced all year, their shots weren't falling. But they fought through it and just like a good team would they found a way to win. Blake Hensley had a great first quarter and James Strange really gave the Mountain Lions a boost as he dominated the second quarter. Dustin Day was really roughed around down inside but he still had a good night too. Derek Rosenbalm and Dustin Warren also came through with some really clutch shots. To Jackson Co.'s credit they really came out and fought the entire game and I really hated to see them lose because the wanted it so bad. Can't wait for the 51st District showdown for the 13th Region ALL "A" Championship tomorrow.
  5. Final from OBI. Pineville winning doesn't surprise me but the score sure does. If anybody can get any stats please post. I doubt the paper will have anything about this game tomorrow considering Pineville won.
  6. Pineville beat Corbin at Corbin so how could Corbin be #4 and Pineville be #7?
  7. Good season for the Mountain Lions so far (considering they have already passed up last year's win total). Dustin Day is really turning heads as well as senior guard Blake Hensley and freshman guard James Strange. Lets just hope they're not peaking at the wrong time.
  8. But when they came out of middle school their chances would have been slim. That is what I was talking about.
  9. Blake Hensley is from the county, Derek Rosenbalm is from the county, Dustin Warren is from the county schools (but lives in town), James Strange came with his dad, and Dustin Day is from the county (but now lives in town). The entire starting five are players that would have never got valuable playing time at Bell Co. but here they are on a team making some noise alot louder than what Bell is this year. Credit to them for working so hard. The first player in the line up that has attended Pineville his entire school life is 6th man Jared Jeffrey.
  10. Great win for the Mountain Lions. Pineville was well prepared for this game but what really surprised was how well Pineville handled the traps. Trapping was something that has really hurt the Mtn. Lions all year long. Blake Hensley had a big game tonight and really showed great senior leadership out on the floor. Hensley is playing some of the best ball in the region right now. Pineville's other guards, Rosenbalm and Strange, shot the ball well tonight too. This Pineville team has to finally be earning respect that they have been working towards all year. Does anyone have any official stats?
  11. This game should be a fun one to watch in my opinion. This game will feature two of the best freshmen in the state (Crawford-Corbin and Strange-Pineville). If Pineville does win this then neither team will score more than 60, but if one of the scores go over 60 then I say the Redhounds will come out on top. Even though it is hard to go against Corbin when they are playing at Corbin I have to stick with my Mountain Lions. Pineville-59 Corbin-54.
  12. Great win for the Dragons. Glad to see their success continue.
  13. Final from Pineville. In simple terms Day was just to much for KC to handle. He just dominated the entire ball game. This game was close at half (29-25) but Pineville just ran away in the second half. Knox is a very good YOUNG team. Of course Scalf (I think that is the correct spelling) was hurt so most likely had a big impact on the game. Strange and Hensley really took it to the KC guards in the second half. But the biggest story in Pineville is not them getting the #2 seed in the district but how is KC vs. B'Ville going to fit in Pineville. That'll be interesting.
  14. Here is some info about the game from the paper. http://www.middlesborodailynews.com/articles/2006/01/11/sports/890tigerswin.txt
  15. This really surprises me. Did Central have anybody out?
  16. Both teams played good. Hard fought effort by the Tigers to put Pineville away and a good effort by the Lions to comeback and make this a ball game. Barbourville did a good job shutting down Day for Pineville and making Pineville rely on their three point shooting. Messer for Barbourville came in and hit some big threes to help Barbourville put themself in front. Blake Hensley shooting was unreal in the second half to help bring the Mountain Lions back from 36-20. Pineville made Barbourville play their game and when it looked like the P'Ville was on its way to making a miracle comeback win Barbourville (just like all good teams) found a way to win. Good win for the Tigers and I hope to see this teams play in the All "A". If anybody has any stats please post them.
  17. This is horrible news. Smith is a great player and an even better kid.
  18. I don't know a thing about Leslie because I've not watched them yet but I have watched Bell and I agree with you Les they don't belong on the list.
