LC99 Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Big win for te Mt. Lions, the guys on the radio said it was Pineville's first win over Corbin in 33 years. Congrats to Pineville.
4chs Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Pineville came out fired up and jumped to a 10-0 lead by hitting their first 5 shots including a couple of what looked to be 25 footers that put Corbin in a hole that they did not overcome until late in the third quarter. Pineville is a solid, well-coached team that would not fold and they were able to answer back after Corbin fought back to take the lead. Pineville's point guard gave Corbin fits all night with his penetration, which the Hounds apparently had no answer for. Good win tonight for the Mt. Lions and their fans who turned this road gaame into what appeared to be more like a home game for the visitors.
The Professor Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 BIG win Pinevlle.......and they're young too. Good future for the Mountain Lions.
einstein Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 did all of Pineville's players grow up in the Pineville district?
the villager Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Great win for the Mountain Lions. Pineville was well prepared for this game but what really surprised was how well Pineville handled the traps. Trapping was something that has really hurt the Mtn. Lions all year long. Blake Hensley had a big game tonight and really showed great senior leadership out on the floor. Hensley is playing some of the best ball in the region right now. Pineville's other guards, Rosenbalm and Strange, shot the ball well tonight too. This Pineville team has to finally be earning respect that they have been working towards all year. Does anyone have any official stats?
the villager Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 did all of Pineville's players grow up in the Pineville district? Blake Hensley is from the county, Derek Rosenbalm is from the county, Dustin Warren is from the county schools (but lives in town), James Strange came with his dad, and Dustin Day is from the county (but now lives in town). The entire starting five are players that would have never got valuable playing time at Bell Co. but here they are on a team making some noise alot louder than what Bell is this year. Credit to them for working so hard. The first player in the line up that has attended Pineville his entire school life is 6th man Jared Jeffrey.
HDE Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 I'm officially impressed now. I didn't think Pineville would beat Corbin. I don't know if I would agree that Pineville is making noise louder than Bell. They both have had good seasons. I also think Day would be able to play at Bell, and probably Hensley and Strange, too.
The Professor Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 did all of Pineville's players grow up in the Pineville district? I don't know, but what does it matter??? As long as they enter the Pineville school system as 9th graders, it wouldn't matter if they were from any area in Bell, or any of the surrounding counties.

As long as they enter the Pineville school system as 9th graders, it wouldn't matter if they were from any area in Bell, or any of the surrounding counties. I agree with you. They all had Pineville on their jerseys, so they must all go to Pineville, which is all that really matters.
footballfever Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 did all of Pineville's players grow up in the Pineville district? Did all of Corbins
The Professor Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Did all of Corbins Right. That's just as fair a question as Einstein's was.

But when they came out of middle school their chances would have been slim. That is what I was talking about.
LOVETHOSERHOUNDS Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Yeah great win for P ville......corbin move on to next game,,,Go Hounds!
Jim Schue Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 They must've been mad about my comments criticizing their schedule in the WYMT top 10 thread. Congrats on a great win Lions!
