  1. James Strange isn't the best shooter in the state but he is one of the top ones. Good form and very consistant it just takes a little too much time to get off. But I will say Smith from Harlan is arguably the best shooter in the state.
  2. Sophomore James Strange for Pineville. The opprotunity to score will now be there because he will probably takeover the playmaker role that was Blake Hensley's last year. The kid has a very consitant shot and alot of athleticism to go along with that. And if we're including juniors as underclassmen then you can't forget about Pineville's big man Dustin Day.
  3. From what I hear both Coach Elam and the kids are hard at work already.
  4. It's going to be a hard road ahead of Coach Elam but it seems as if he has enough energy to meet the challenge(and what a great one it will be).
  5. I agree Pineville was going in the right direction and Coach Bryant seemed to be a real good fit. I don't think the administration at Pineville is to blame. Pineville loves football (especially the football field). These boys really grew up after the 0-10 season a couple of years ago and as big of a downer as this is, I personally think they will bounce back.
  6. Is this official? If so, congratulations! This is a well deserved honor for JD. He really has brought alot of pride back to Pineville athletics. :thumb:
  7. 1 point! Good job Barbourville. You represented the 51st District well.
  8. Well said. Good year for the Lady Lions. :thumb:
  9. Pineville had four seniors: Blake Hensley, Derek Rosenbalm, Robert Daniels, and Brad Venable. Hensley and Rosenbalm have been key parts in rebuilding Pineville's program. -Blake Hensley: Has been Coach Strange's floor leader for the past 3 years. Could play all 5 spots on the floor which made him very special for Pineville. Will be the most difficult player to replace. -Derek Rosenbalm: Most known for his ability to shoot the 3, he was used most often as Pineville's key defensive player.
  10. Good win for the Tigers and good luck against Clay Co.
  11. Maybe next year Bell Co. will get some guts and put Pineville back on the schedule and I'll let the boys put this to rest. Thats all I have left to say on the subject.
  12. First of all let me say I appreciate what you do for our country, but you really have some issues you need to work out with Coach Strange himself. You never did watch Pineville play (I understand why but still) so how do you know they are overrated. What happened to Pineville was they were looking at Barbourville instead of Lynn Camp, that had nothing to do with the schedule. We all saw what happen when Pineville was only focused on Lynn Camp back in January. Give credit to Lynn Camp because they came out and took advantage of the situation and they were rightfully rewarded for their accomplishment (they get to go to Clay Co.). But again I ask whatever you have against Coach Strange, because of what he did at Bell Co., take it up with him don't talk bad about players.
  13. Saw it coming but just really turn the other cheek to the idea of losing to Lynn Camp. I hate this for the boys and it looked like they really took it hard. I am really going to miss seniors Blake Hensley, Derek Rosenbalm, Brad Venable, and Robert Daniels. Hensley and Rosenbalm have helped turn this program around and have been excellent on court leaders for their far younger teammates. Fortunately for most of these boys they have along time left in the maroon and gold, so don't let this weigh on your minds too long. I really look foward to seeing Dustin Day and James Strange back on the hardwood next year. Horrible ending to a great year but remember boys you brought more pride and excitement to this town than anything has in quite a while.
  14. The last meeting was an one-sided Pineville win 67-47. Lynn Camp is without a doubt a better ball club than that. Pineville has chose a bad part of the season to not be playing their best ball. That being said I'll say: Pineville-60 Lynn Camp-50
  15. I was doing my weekly read up on Pineville's stats on riherds.com and under the coach's notes it says, "February 23, 2006 6'6" Sophomore center Dustin Day scored his 1000th career point in Pineville's 57-49 win over Cumberland at Pineville High School." Congratulations to Dustin Day on this accomplishment, and the best part is Pineville will have him for two more years.
  16. Horrible game by the Mountain Lions. This makes the fourth bad game in-a-row for Pineville. Cumberland did a good job shutting down Day, and Blake Hensley basically did nothing the entire game. Matt Combs came off the bench and provided a spark for Pineville when they were struggling. The game was even the throughout, except for a huge run Pineville made in the second quarter when freshman James Strange took over. Wins like this really disappoint me and make me wonder if the Lions peaked at All "A".
  17. How long is Goins going to be out? If he will be out for the duration of Bell Co.'s postseason (which is the only place Pineville and Bell can meet), then Pineville has a clear advantage because Bell has no answer for Day. I don't care who beat who and who lost to who. It all matters on match ups. :fight: It is a shame all this nonsense hasn't let me do what this thread was meant for, and that was to congratulate Bell on a good (and needed) win. SO congratulations Bell Co. and good luck against the Cards.
  18. Two losses to Barbourville at their peak. Now even though Whitaker was out against Barbourville at their peak, I'm still going to ask how did they do then? Now as for the Clay loss; Pineville didn't look use to how physical of a game Clay plays (which I expected).
  19. Correction the boys on the court proved you wrong, not me. As for the bolded part, you could make that case with about 5 other teams too.
  20. I never said Pineville is an absolute better team. I do think Dustin Day would give them a slight edge over Bell Co.. Now as for Bell not losing alot, what do you think Pineville lost. They lost one player and with him gone they're a better TEAM. Losing Larry Helton definitely didn't make Bell a better TEAM.
