  1. The crowd had a large part in this win. The student section seemed like they were able to get in a couple of key player's mind. I can't wait to see what crowd Pineville will have for the Barbourville game. It is good to see J.D. Strange finally getting credit for his hard work at Pineville. He has paid his dues and now finally the program is on the verge of turning around.
  2. What a win for the Mountain Lions. They played great defense for the entire game and the second half was nearly perfect. The shots weren't falling for Pineville in the first half but the second half Pineville lit Lynn Camp up. Big man Dustin Day was just to much for the campers to handle. But he wasn't the only Mountain Lion to play good. Everybody really came out to play for this one. The key was Pineville's ablility to shut down Siler's penetration. This is a big momentum booster with Barbourville coming up Tuesday. Congrats Coach Strange and the Pineville team for having and executing a flawless game plan.
  3. I know Barbourville has tremendous athletes and Good, Crawford, Grubbs, Cox are all really really great ball players. They blow me away with their athleticism every time I watch them. The game on paper is a blow out but paper doesn't count. Now I'm not saying Pineville will win but Coach Strange showed last year that he can slow down the game (which will be key for Pineville). All I'm saying is it will be a good game.
  4. The game last year at Barbourville was only a 11 point win for the Tigers. Pineville showed they can slow the game on Barbourville which will be very important on Tuesday. And Barbourville lost alot more than Pineville did.
  5. Considering the fact the game is at Pineville, Tuesday's game against the Mountain Lions will be a good test for the Tigers also. IMO.
  6. A game this big I am going to have to give the advantage to the home team. Harlan by 5.
  7. Final from Williamsburg. Wasn't able to be there so if anybody was there or have any stats please post. This was a pretty good win for the Mountain Lions going into district play this Friday against Lynn Camp.
  8. Well Pineville started out 6-0 (the first time in school history, I think) by beating JFWA, TN, Evarts, Bera, Red Bird, Bethlehem, and Bullitt East. Then they lost to a strong Louisville Eastern team who went to the finals of the 5/3 Classic. Then they got beat by a not so good Garrard Co. team but you can't go an entire season without an upset (unless your South Laurel). They then beat Whitley Co. pretty good and then beat Jellico, TN. So there is who Pineville has beat and who they have lost to.
  9. Good list Les. :thumb: Even though I'm surprise that the Mountain Lions are still #8 after losing to a not so good Garrard County. But upsets will happen. It's odd to see three 51st District teams in the top 10.
  10. Would you consider South Laurel to be a mountain school?
  11. Big win for the Tigers with district play just week away.
  12. Pineville has made drastic improvments over the last 5 years. Coach J.D. Strange took over in the 2000-2001 season after Coach David Miller (coach at Carroll County) coached 3 years and only won 11 games. The Mountain Lions last year alone won 11 ball games on their way to a district runner-up. This year they are 8-2 and are a realistic threat for the 51st District title. And the best news here in Pineville is that the best is yet to come.
  13. I haven't watched Cumberland yet. So I guess you can move Cumberland up to 4 and make it a 4-team race. No matter what, Middlesboro will have a hard time with the All "A".
  14. :thumb: I agree with everything except Red Bird and Williamsburg. But does it matter?
  15. This is truly tragic news for the entire town of Pineville. I was reading the obituaries on the Middlesboro Daily New's website and came across it. Here is the link: http://www.middlesborodailynews.com/articles/2005/12/23/obituaries/472obitadams.txt My thoughts and prayers go out to the Adams family.
  16. No I didn't mean you were crazy just putting the Lions and the Jackets in the same category (which I'm sure a lot of people are doing) is crazy.
  17. Here is the article from the Middlesboro Daily News about the Pineville vs. Bethlehem game: http://www.middlesborodailynews.com/articles/2005/12/23/sports/928pineville.txt And here is the article from the Middlesboro Daily News about the Pineville vs. Bullitt East game: http://www.middlesborodailynews.com/articles/2005/12/23/sports/925pineville.txt
  18. Pineville and Middlesboro do play at Pineville on Feb. 3rd. at 6:00 p.m. Considering Middlesboro has no answer for Day I would say around 20 pts.
  19. With Pineville's style of ball they can compete and/ or beat anyone in the region (except for South Laurel). The games that I've watched Pineville they are very disciplined in their offenses and will run it until they have the best shot. A lot of people are underestimating the Mountain Lions but including them in the same list as Middlesboro is just crazy.
  20. http://scoreboard.12dt.com/scoreboard/bluegrasspreps/kybbk5?id=spec_2390 Wasn't able to come so if someone could who was there or knows some stats I would appreciate it. Congratulations to Eastern on winning the whole thing. I believe Pineville surprised us all by starting out the season 6-0 and beating Bullitt East, but just came up short in the main game. This is the first time since I can remember that the Mountain Lions have started out 6-0. If anybody has any stats or was there please post.
  21. Pineville Mountain Lions are 4-0. -(A)Pineville @ J Frank White Academy, TN 57 - 42 -(H)Evarts @ Pineville 51 - 60 -(H)Berea @ Pineville 58 - 66 -(H)Red Bird @ Pineville 44 - 72 They still seem to be looking for that "complete" game where everyone shows up. Red Bird was best game they have had this year but a couple of players' struggles continued.
  22. Anything Pineville does the goal is to beat Middlesboro and then focus on the postseason. Also in Pineville it is whoever is the opposing team in the :dancingpa LAUREL BOWL! :dancingpa
  23. -Pineville over Middlesboro. Storm the court, celebrate, and a parade around town with police escort and everything. That is hard to top. http://www.photoreflect.com/scripts/prsm.dll?eventframe?event=08JO001X00&start=64&ts=1107986408 Page 5 might give you a little look of how great it was to be a lion that night
