This thread amazes me. Pineville was all the stuff in the preseason and now that they had one bad game and still managed to win everybody is on their back. One person even said other than Strange and Day the rest of the Pineville team couldn't make Lynn Camp's top ten. These players have proven they are winners and they do what it takes to win no matter who it is (Cumberland, who they've never lost to, or Lynn Camp) for the past 5 years. I think its funny none of Pineville's critics said anything when Pineville beat Alabama's #10 team out in Bowling Green. This Pineville team will be fine, just like last year's team ended up fine. Go ahead and bury Pineville like you did last year, and they will win just like they did last year. I'm sure these kids love your bulliten board material. :thumb:

Pineville played a 2-3 all night, not alot of foul opprotunities. Lynn Camp played a full-court man against a more talented Pineville team, thats going to lead to fouls.

Yes Jereme is Amanda's brother.

Jereme is the kid you remember. He really impressed alot of people this year with his play throughout the summer.

Jereme passed away around noon today after a hunting accident. As a friend of Jereme's I consider myself lucky to have known him. There was no doubt in my mind that he was going to play a huge role in Pineville's hunt for a 13th Region title, and his memory will no doubt play just as big of a role. Jereme made such big strides in his overall game over a very short period of time and was no doubt going to be one of the better names in the region over the course of the next two years. I don't expect too many people on this site to know Jereme except those from the Bell County area. Jereme was full of energy and lived life to the fullest. I just ask everyone to keep Jereme's family in their prayers.

Actually I have disagreed with the rule since I heard of it. But this hit so close to home I felt like I needed to finally say something about how ignorant this rule is.

I think they didn't score alot against Pineville because Pineville slowed the game down to prevent the runs that got them down by so much the first two times they lost to Corbin. On that note, its hard to beat Corbin at Corbin and even though Bell is alot older than Corbin I just have a feeling Corbin will pull this one out.

Couldn't agree with you more. We all agree the rule is clear, but that doesn't make it right.

Even though a kid has straight A's doesn't mean their are at the maturity level they need to be.

I believe he dropped out of school. The Mayes kid is a good example of the affects this ignorant rule has on the kids.

Combs is from Scott Co. if anybody from up there who knows him has an account on here wants to support him by saying something.

#11 is James Strange, J.D.'s kid. He has alot of talent, good leadership skills, and is irreplaceable on the court. Him going out changed the game completely for Pineville. With just two ball handlers on the floor Corbin felt comfortable turning up the pressure on Pineville, and it worked. I would assume increasing their depth is a Pineville offseason goal and that should make them a hard team to handle next year.

I know I've been saying all year how Pineville don't have any seniors. Well I overlooked the fact Matt Combs #25 does not have his senior year of eligibility. And he doesn't get to play next year because of the KHSAA's wonderful rule that you can't stay back at the end of your 8th grade year. Combs is an outstanding kid and is being done wrong by a rule that is the most unhuman rule that I can think of. And what is saddest, is he is not the only kid being penalized by this. If a kid needs a year to mature, the KHSAA has no right in being a parent and saying he can't. If you know anyone who has ever stayed back they will tell you that it is one of the best things that could've ever been done to them. If Matt Combs reads this I want him to know that I think he has done an outstanding job at Pineville in every sport he participates in, and he is being robbed of the most precious year of your life (your senior high school year) and he has my support in trying to get his eligibility back.

Pineville's run started in the second half against Corbin earlier in the year and ended with Corbin tonight. Pineville came out and controlled the game up untill mid 3rd quarter. I don't know if depth got to them or what, but Corbin did a good job of not getting rattled when they were down early. But this game makes you look forward to next year because if both teams improve like they should and get good draws these two teams could meet each other in the regional championship next year. Corbin has a good team and the best of luck to them as they try to defend their homecourt and win region and congratulations to Pineville on everything they accomplished. They could've laid down when they were 5-9 but they battled back and finished 16-12 with a district title, and the credit has to go to J.D. Strange because he refocused his kids and put the fight back in them.

I would guess they will play man. Especially if 42 is in. Corbin is to good to box and 1. And I'm not saying this just because I'm a Pineville fan, but I do think this will be a good game.

I really don't think Corbin will beat Pineville in the teens. In the previous meetings Pineville has had trouble defending Corbin and they gave up too many wide open shots. But these are things that can be corrected and I got a feeling they will be. Look for Pineville to try to take control of the tempo early to stop the Hounds from jumping out to big leads like they did in their previous meetings. Getting off to a good start is going to be key for both teams because of their youth. I think this is going to be one of the better games at Corbin this week.

Two good, young teams. I believe niether team has any seniors, which makes me look forward to next year as well. I haven't got to watch Knox Central all that much, but what I have got to see of them they are a good, tall, athletic, well-coached team. Pineville lost to Central at Central earlier this year, but to Pineville's credit they are playing much better ball right now. Dustin Day has turned his season around and is the force we all thought he would be at the start of the year. But Day is not the only one, everyone wearing the maroon and gold seem to be clicking right now. James Strange and Day seem to be a very dangerous duo along with Dustin Warren's 3-point shooting. And even though they were able to beat Lynn Camp without Dustin Day playing 32 minutes, they will need him to show up and stay out of foul trouble tomorrow night. That being said I believe J.D. and his boys are going to bring the district championship to Pineville for the first time in awhile.

A team like Middlesboro can be dangerous this time a year.

They did what they needed to and won. Playing Lynn Camp after what happened last year probably was a big mental factor. But with the Campers out of the way Pineville should have clear heads for Friday.

Coach Pietrowski, hands down. Corbin is young as can be and they are going to give South and anybody else all they want in the post-season.
