Sounds like it was a dandy. I would guess the Lions won the game at the free throw line by the final score, anyone have details?

Great game! Cats will only get better. Awesome defense by the cats. Lynn Camp had five players foul out. Strange got 27 pts from the foul line. If Lynn Camp hits shots they normally make they win by double digits. Good luck to both teams the rest of the season. Hopefully the two teams get to lock it up again.

my father-in law called me when the game was in regulation and Pineville was shooting free throws ahead 72-66 with thirty-some seconds left.

All I know is that Zach Johnson canned a trey to send the game into overtime.

Lynn Camp had 37 fouls called against them to Pineville 16 fouls.

27 points from the free throw line might be a state record for a game. I can not believe one player would get that many attempts, especially a perimeter player. At any rate sounds like it was a shootout. Lynn Camp has now shown they are a threat to any team in the region on a given night. Good work Wildcats and congrats to Pineville for getting the W.

Coach Brent West started things off at the Camp for Coach P and Coach P is continuing to do a good job. I know Coach P has told me numerous times how important West was to him. I like coach West as well. I covered him when his team pulled off the big upset in the district against Corbin in 98, I believe. He's a top-notch coach for Coach Pietrowski and Corbin now.

Good job coach Pennington and the Cats.

Coach Pennington has done about as good a job at LC as anyone could ask. He has developed some fine players, put some class into the program, and turned a once sleeping program into a very respectable class A team. I appreciate his efforts and have been told he is one heck of a good guy from many sources. If the Cats continue to work hard and listen to their coach they can have another solid season and challenge for the All A and a berth in the regional tournament this season. Pineville was a play or two away last year from defeating Corbin in the 13th regional, no need for the Cats to hang their heads. Tonight they proved something to alot of folks, most importantly they proved something to themselves. I bet Coach Pennington would have loved to see the original district alignment passed that had LC, Wburg, Whitley and Corbin in the 50th district. The 51st has been tough the last couple of years with Bville, KC and Pineville all having banner teams.

I totally agree.

Pineville played a 2-3 all night, not alot of foul opprotunities. Lynn Camp played a full-court man against a more talented Pineville team, thats going to lead to fouls.

I knew it would be a shootout. Pinevilles going to be battle tested later on in the season, I would say the crowd was rowdy tonight.

A very good high school game to watch tonight. A few observations I have about Pineville's win. 1. Coach Strange gets more out of less than anyone I have seen this year. Other than Strange and Day I don't think any of the other P'ville players (and I'm not putting them down) could make Lynn Camp's top ten. 2. There were alot of fouls on LC, IMO most of this was due to the type of game they play, in the first half LC took way to many 3's a team rarely gets fouled on these, P'ville attacked the basket all night, thats when you get fouled. P'ville mostley played a passive zone in the second and LC full court with double and triple team traps, again more fouls. 3. Day is a big kid and a fairly good player (he sat out most of the second half in foul trouble himself) Strange is the heart and soul of their team he is a real player. 4. #23(Johnson) for LC hit a huge 3 to send the game into overtime he probably should be on the floor more for the Cats. 5. I look for these two to hook-up again in the district which will be at LC should be another good one.

I agree and disagree with you here, I agree Coach West has been a big-time help to the Corbin program much of their success is due to the efforts of he and Coach McDaniels. I disagree about him starting things off at LC he was only there one year and they barely won one game that year best I remember. Harmon had a decent year the year before West, and was an overtime loss to Whitley from going to the region, and the year before he and Bingham had the Cats in the finals of the 13th All-A before losing to Jackson Co.. Any success LC is having now is due to Pennington, the people who have and are now helping him, and most importantly past and present LC players who put forth the effort asked of them.
