Whitley County 71 Williamsburg 63
Everyone in the district certainly hopes the Jackets continue the tenure of Coach Maxey and Coach Haynes.

DeSales 72 South Laurel 65 (OT)
LIT is a difficult place for most teams out of the Louisville area to win. It would appear that the home schools have a slight advantage in several ways. At any rate great win for DeSales. South will be there when the time comes.

New Era In Whitley County Colonel Football
I appreciate the support. I call it like I see it. No need to sugar coat what takes place. I hope the new Coach well and the best for the team. I just feel as an outsider looking in that Coach Campbell was placed in a bad situation. He has built a good program and now will not get to see the fruits of his labor mature this coming season. The new Coach will have that luxary. He will look great and tarnish the image of the former Coach in the eyes of those who do not truly know who built the team.

Corbin73 Whitley Co. 55
Whitley played better, Corbin subbed alot throughout the game and no fouls were called when the Hounds attacked the basket. I look forward to seeing this match-up in the district at Gillium gym. Coach Guffey is fighting a tough battle and was shorthanded in this game. Corbin will have to play alot better if they hope to make an noise come region time.

Maybe when the big boy from Pineville started going off the Coach at LC tried to put someone else on him.

New Era In Whitley County Colonel Football
Surely no one associated with the perpetual change in Whitley County athletics would be concerned with making themselves look good............ We all know that politics is not running wild out there.............. and that all these decisions have been mutally agreed upon by all parties involved to be in the best interest for all the student- athletes  I stated earlier that Whitley would win at least seven games next season with Cecil as their coach. Shame of the matter is Campbell did not get to leave on his own accord and that Coach Gentry will have to mend alot of fences in his first season. Coach Gentry is a good old country boy that should fit in nicely as the Colonel leader. Kids seem to like him and he has some knowledge of football. I think the Colonel ship will float about the same as it did under Coach Campbell.

Coaching Change at Whitley
Whitley should be able to win 7 games or more with all the talent they have returning. This will make the transition easier for the new coach and keep the fans happy for the time being. I hope they do open up the offense a bit. That will put more Colonel fans in the stands.

Fleming Co.?
Coach Messer has done a good job at Fleming. I would think he would be chomping at the bit for the Clay Co job, but there are a few things that would not allow that to happen. Maybe once he calms his sideline behavior down a bit the people at Clay will judge him suitable to lead the Tigers.

Barbourville 71 Greenup Co 49
I agree Mr. Pig.....too many underacheiving teams, runner - up in the district and early first round regional losses for the Tigers to consider themselves an elite program.

Barbourville vs. Knox Central
This is always an interesting game with fans from both sides wildly excited when these two teams match- up. If the Panthers and their Coach can keep their emotions in check I think they have the opportunity to upset the Tigers. Seems like most of the support in Knox County has moved its way over to the Dinky Dome the last few years. Barbourville is not the same team without Cox on the floor. If the Panthers can get a decently called game and pressure the basketball they should be in good shape. It will be interesting to see how the Miller kid from Central plays in this game. Some of his family seem to have some close ties to the Barbourville program, even to the point of attending every Tiger game in the CFIT. I think it will be a barnburner with the Panthers sneaking out a victory.....77- 71

Coaching Change at Whitley
Seems like the move with Gentry would be a parallel one at best. If these are the only applicants then the Colonels program did not draw the interest that I thought it would. Best of luck to whomever is in control for the Colonel footballers.

Barbourville 71 Greenup Co 49
Barbourville was able to win the tourney with some good play and the benefit of the doubt calls. I noticed a couple of the same officals had all of their games throughout. Greenup was not allowed to get up in Barbourville and press them the way they were allowed the night before against Carolina Forest. In the words of one local coach....."When you go bear hunting sometimes you get the bear and sometimes the bear gets you". It was an interesting Falls tournament in alot of ways.

Boys 13th Region Fear 'Les' Regional Ratings
If I recall correctly. Perry had a couple of players sick and those guys did not play against Bell. Perry seemed a bit jet lagged or bus droggy to open the game. Bell built a sizeable lead and was able to maintain it throughout.

Perry County Central 59 Corbin 56
Maybe Barley was ill or something.

Boys 13th Region Fear 'Les' Regional Ratings
The Falls seemed to have a definite "BLUE" feel to it this season. Bville seemed to get the breaks when they needed them. Corbin did not play well druing the tournament. Of course, they faced two of the best teams in the field .......Carolina Forest and Perry Central.

Sayre 71 Lynn Camp 58
I thought maybe the Bville radio called the game. I just realized it was played at Danville.

Zap how did you get the stats so fast? Was it on the radio? I hate that I missed it ....if it was.

Bell County/Barbourville Update?
Good to see someone thinking that Bville gets some calls. No one since Clay and Keith gets more in my opinion.

Carolina Forest, SC 83 Corbin 69
Carolina Forest is a good squad. This was a tough match-up for the first round of your own tournament. I hope this shows the quality of the teams competing in the CFIT year in and year out. I think this also illustrates that the selection committee does not stack the brackets to insure the host school advances each year. These attributes along with the hospitality shown to all teams and fans truly make this one of the best tournament in this end of the state. Good luck this evening Hounds against St. James, SC.

Nice win for the Wildcats. Sounds like big man Cody Dixon is carrying the load inside for the team.

Coaching Change at Whitley
Has Tom Bryant applied?

Corbin 66 Fleming County 46
Coach Messer is still his old self. He is very firey on the sidelines and seems to get his players to play very hard. He is worth the price of admission to those not easily offended.

Predictions on the CFIT tourney at Corbin
He has played the point position at times for Coach P in the past two seasons. I think now he is a mix between a 2 and 3. He would need some work to play the point at the next level. But he has a few years to work on that along with his outside jumper.

Predictions on the CFIT tourney at Corbin
Great, I hope to see the body paint and tailgating rippin and roarin on game night. This team needs our support to continue the season.
