Les, how good can the Crawford kid be for the Hounds down the road? Is he on the same lines as Daniel Dillion who went on to Arizona?

I would love to see that happen and with some tough physical play the Hounds might have a good chance to do just that. It should be an entertaining tournament that is always first class. Hope the Hound fans show up in litters and give the team a big lift.

Did Coach Elam get his first T of the season Friday in the Middlesboro game? He seemed to be settling down a bit from previous seasons.

I think Coach Phipps must have worked out the differences with the two young men who quit the Tigers. I think both have returned to the team. Kids sometime make hasty decisions and later regret them. Kudos to Coach Phipps for giving them a chance to rejoin the team.

I am sure there will be some type of committee in place. Now as to who will have the final say, I think most people could guess who that will be as well. I would think a committee of the Principal, AD, along with a member of site based and then some football people will make up the committee. Of course they can go a different direction all together. At any rate, I am certain alot of people will put in for this position. I would think they could not go wrong with Coach Black or Coach Rains. Of course who knows if either is interested in the position.

I am not sure about the pay out at Whitley. Just know alot of Red Storm fans would like to see it happen. Bingo money can buy a giant helmet, wonder if it can pay $100,000 to get Coach Smith.

It is bad when parents stick their nose in places that is does not belong. I thought maybe someone had given the Media a "heads up" in order to promote their objectives. Coach Campbell has been nothing but nice to me in all dealings I have had with the man. I wish him the best. I hope Whitley football does not follow the same road as the basketball program over there and change coaches every three to five years. Jim Black and Rick Rains would be the two most desired interviews if I were on the committee.

Maybe none of the above mentioned coaches told their players before they handed in their papers. I would think most would meet with their teams when the offical notice had been submited. Sounds like Coach Campbell may have wanted the article ran before he offically gave his resignation.

True they were. Hammons injured a knee very seriously and was never the same player. Mills has faced injuries since leaving high school. By the way, both received college scholarships to play basketball, just as Crawford will in about three seasons.

Unless he gets worse or injured Josh Crawford will get a scholarship in basketball at some level. You made a good point. If kids do not want to play football then they should not. It is too tough a sport for many. I have never picked up a basketball or thrown a football in my life........ lol. Josh can play many positions. He must improve his outside shot, but I am sure he is ahead of the curve compared with most his age in our area. Actually he is better than most seniors in this area of the state, IMO. I never said he would write it as a freshman, but he is well on his way. He is ranked one of the top five in his class. Who was the last from this area to achieve that? Thomas, Farmer, Sanford, Phil Cox.....etc puts him in a pretty good class. Alot of players do one skill better than Crawford, but few do all the aspects of the game at the same level he does. That is what makes him a well rounded player.

Josh Crawford, unlike most high school players, will write his college scholarship by playing basketball. I am sure of that. Zap , why all the hate all the sudden for Josh and the Hounds? Have you changed sides?

If only Coach Burchette was welcomed to install his lifting program now. I have heard he is not wanted by the present staff?

Noble was at best 6'2 and did not have any desire to be hit.

Or Cody Dixon a 6'6 QB could have been a big assist to the Hounds /Campers program.... On second thought he was not tough enough to handle the physcial play of football.

This score makes the Whitley Co and Lynn Camp game more interesting. Congratulations to Coach Mitchell and the Wildcats. I for one thought they may have been over rated. They have proved me wrong with the impressive win tonight.
