  1. I don't know what your opinion of Tubby Smith is, but I have a question. If a coach has won a national championship and has 557 career wins, how can you say he is both a subpar bench coach and recruiter? What exactly is he in your eyes?
  2. Anyone know the circumstances of Isaiah Tisdale from Henry Clay not being on the Kentucky squad?
  3. Yes he was, although I do not notice as much for the other team. Looking through my Red googles.
  4. John Tumpane was the home plate umpire. He is a poor excuse, and, if he can't call a game better than he did tonight, he needs to get straight to high school baseball. That was the worst performance by a major league umpire behind the plate that I have ever seen.
  5. He called a strike on a pitch just off the dirt to Suarez in the first inning. It would have been ball four and the Reds would have had runners on first and second with no outs. Suarez, ultimately, lined out to the third baseman.
  6. I used to go to the practice round each year. We would get there at sunrise and walk from the first hole to the eighteenth hole, have lunch, and then walk from the eighteenth hole back to the first hole. Then it was in the car, headed back to Lexington. A great, great day.
  7. This umpire has no clue where his strike zone is. Just awful.....doesn't deserve to be paid to call a game in the major leagues.
  8. I like Lexington Catholic Coach Mark Perry, but he does not qualify under #1 of your criteria. The 2016 season will be Coach Perry's 13th as a head coach (Washington County 2004-2010; Central Hardin 2011-2013; and Lexington Catholic 2014, 2015). Excellent "young" coach who just started his head coaching career a little younger thank most.
  9. I must say, this year's Masters has made me less critical about the choking I have done through the years on the golf course. Ernie Els and Jordan Spieth are or have been at the top of their profession and are still subject to being humbled on the golf course.
  10. I agree, to a certain extent. If you have ever been to Lambeau Field, you might feel a little less confident in your statement. It is like comparing Rachel Welch to Farah Fawcett, in my generation.
  11. A must do on your bucket list. Even if it is seeing a practice round, Augusta National is what I envision Heaven being like.
  12. i was in attendance. Great game and I was shocked at the outcome. I gave Villanova no chance to win the game.
  13. Deductibles have risen, but more importantly, the out of pocket maximums are now absurd. What we will see next is that our providers of healthcare will have massive uncollectible accounts receivable.
  14. I had heard back before the Sweet Sixteen games, that the television networks would be hoping for a North Carolina/Oklahoma final for ratings sakes. Something about a perennial national power (UNC), versus a team with individual star power (Oklahoma/Buddy Hield). It looks like they might get their wish.
  15. If my Father was still alive, he would be doing what he could to eliminate the Bradford Peer. Back in the 1970's, my Father planted two Bradford Pears in front of the house as an attractive street tree. The grew and looked beautiful, but as they got larger in a few years, after any storm they would split. He was a perfectionist and this would drive him nuts. Finally, after another storm and splitting of his Bradford Pear, he was finished. I heard him come into the house mumbling and the next thing we knew, he had fired up his chain saw, and those rotten, splitting Bradford Pears were finished. The end.
  16. Back in 2005 in Kentucky, the out of pocket maximums we saw we typically $2000-$3000 for an individual contract. It is typically twice these amounts for a person who is covering their dependents. In 2016, the ACA has set the maximum out of pocket at $6850 for an individual. That would be $13,700 for a family. Outrageous! How many people who are forced to have coverage can even afford the cost of a surgery with insurance?
  17. And this is the KEY point. The ACA plans are so watered down. The previously mentioned health care increases are skewed because the deductibles and out of pocket maximums are so much higher with Obamacare. The comparison is like apples and oranges.
  18. Those were Carolina's all-Americans and Kentucky expected them to play well. Actually Phil Ford had one of his worst scoring games of his career that day (2 points). Kuester was the dagger to the Cats that day. Dean Smith went to the four corner offense and Kuester drained free throw after free throw to beat a very strong Kentucky team. This team could have won it all, just like the 1978 team, in my opinion. Kentucky vs. North Carolina (March 19, 1977)
  19. Rick will bring in some players with more stars than Western Kentucky is accustom to have playing for the Toppers. Rick is slick.
  20. I remember it well. :( John Kuester and Dean's four corner offense, killed the Cats.
