Meade County 18 Henry Clay 14

I guess that "Speed" didn't bother them too much!

Sets up a rematch of last year's 6A final.

Thought Meade Co. would win at home. Knew it would be a good one. Henry Clay had a chance 4th and 1 and couldn't do it.

I think the speed actually bothered Meade's offense more than the defense. They had a hard time turning the corner on some of their option plays.

As for Meade's D, they are so disciplined and physical not a whole lot bothers them. They only gave up 7 offensive points tonight and that was on the first drive of the game.

They just do a good job of containing teams with speed. They manage not to give up big plays by playing with great discipline. Then they capitalize when an offense makes a mistake. Very fun defense to watch.

Even better yet, Henry Clay had it first and goal on the one yard line and did not score. The second down play by Meade County, I believe #70 was the best defensive play of the game.

Nice goal line stand by the Waves.

Best game of the first round. Meade's defense held on the 1 yard line with under a minute left. Buford had over 200 yards and a TD, kid's special and it was a great job by Meade's defense to limit him to that.
