Leslie's pitcher hit a solo home run to score Leslie's run. The Eagles have some solid fielders. Jason Osborne pitched. There was a scare early in the game as Martin Hobbs lost his contact, and was replaced by Nick Schuler; and Josh Drake went out to the outfield. Drake hit the ball well and impressed this fan with his heavy bat. Corey Thomas is the most enthusiastic player I've seen. I'll be sad to see him graduate because of the raw emotion he injects into the sport and its evident how much he truly loves the sport. I believe Corey scored twice. Some silly unforced errors affected Lee's fielding but that goes with the game. Should be interesting tonight when Q. Morgan pitches for Leslie, who is undoubtedly one of the better pitchers around. Anyone have updates or information please post, as I have to work late tonight and will unfortunately miss this second game in an exciting series.

Cordia will be strong next year, so will KCC, just seems to be alot of in fighting from reading the posts over the last few years. JBS is definately a favorite to win the district. As long as Alice Lloyd uses JBS as a feeder school for thier college program JBS should be a powerhouse. LCC is hard to get a reading on seems to be another case of turmoil overruling talent on the floor. Should be a good year next year for the district. I would love to see Stamper and Cox in the same backcourt, WOW

This kind of thing is perfect for the public/private debate and is the perfect example why there should be two complete seperate systems. The playing field is not level.

I hope Tate don't have to play is the shadows of the Stepp brothers. But I can't see it playing out any other way.

I was at the game, so I can make a few observations. Coach Tiller called a bad game. Why would you zone shooters? JBS hit like 80% from outside the arc and most were completely uncontested. Second Estill the much taller did not utilize the inside game at all. Third they did a horrible job of rebounding out of the zone. Help defense was non-existant. I have seen Estill play at least 8 times and by far this is thier worst performance. I do not understand how you play right into JBS hand. They are young and good shooters. Follow the Hazard pattern pressure and rebound and no uncontested shots. Thats it and pound the ball inside against that zone it would have been a field day. I will say that Cox impressed the heck out of me. He is tough nosed player and may have led JBS in rebounds. As far as the crowd I don't know that I saw a difference in the size from either side and I did notice that an official did warn the JBS student secton about something. The gym was not half full on either side plenty of room left. Estill did travel light though last night. JBS has a nice young team, Stepp handles every possesion and decides who gets the ball. Cox can penetrate and everyones else lines up around the arc and shoots after Stepp penetrates and kicks. Play man to man and very physical and I believe Hazard will be successful.

Who will do the count for the JBS fan base, maybe the same person who did the Matewan game. I have seen JBS and make no mistake they can play when they are on. They are not always consistant, probally youth is the reason, relying on Stepp so heavily could be their undoing. Estill is solid all over but they also have off nites(I just haven't seen any) senior led and I believe this is the key. Dixon is so solid and I can not see him letting JBS end his career. Should be a good game. I hope the train keeps rolling.

I keep hearing Spurlock is definatly gone and it is a shocker who will be named his replacement. As far as the Wolfe job I believe it is 50 -50 whether the same coach returns.

Yea Rich had only 1 point in the first he missed 5 in close when he was open. Tyler came out over enthused and play overly aggressive on the offensive end settled down in the second half and scored most every time he caught in the paint. Dixon is a great player and IMO top 3 in the region. But he is not a great post defender and he would tell you that himself. It is not his natural position. I mean nothing negative about his game. Tyler Rich couldn't stop Blake Christopher, Tyler doesn't play great point defense just not his natural position. Fetters picked up the slack for Rich and helped Lee pulll out a tough win. I know it is possible to meet Estill againbut I feel sorry for whoever draws Estill. These guys play the game the way it is supposed to be played. Estill is a class act and I wish all you guys the best in the region. Hope you draw JBS and stomp them. :dancingpa

I do not know what your'e problem is but we also beat Owsley 4 times and you couldn,t carry thier bags. So for the best of all concerned I won't respond any longer to your dumb remarks and I will see you and your bunch at KCC. Best Wishes

I wonder if the tape showed a punch being thrown and if it did I wonder if Jackson City sends it to the KHSAA, would Cody be suspended for a game or is it only if the referee declares a punch?

Cordia plays pretty consistant, the only difference is their FG%. If there on they are hard to beat. But overall they play preety consistant. JBS is a different story Beat PCC and then lose to Owsley. They should do pretty well though they don't have to many miles of curvy roads to travel to get to Hindman.

Thats too bad for a senior to act this way. I always thought Cody carried himself pretty well even though being the POY I thought all the refs let him do as he pleased. Oh well both teams will be in the regional tournament. Will Cody have to sit out a game for fighting? :confused:
