This game was closer than I thought it would be. Congrats to Jackson City they have a good team that can cause some problems in the 14th.

Gilbert fouled out with like 4 min. left and one thread said it had been 72 years since Jackson won the distrtict.

I listened to this one on the radio and whew was it ever a long one. The announcers said that Gilbert threw a punch???? And then Fugate???? What was going on on the floor. Man were there ever a lot of fouls called in this one. Congrats to Jackson City.

Wolfe had 4 starters foul out. Cody was wound tight the whole game, pushing and bumping and even throwing a punch resulting in a technical. I even thought that he may attack his coach at one point.

 

Jackson City played hard and actually were headed for foul trouble early on. Wolfe was shooting the bonus with a minute to go in the first quarter. Gilbert removed himself from this game....guess that he wanted it too bad.

 

In spite of all this, Wolfe had a chance to win it .... down by 1 point with 20+ seconds to go. One of the young guards walked and then fouled Howard with only a tick or two remaining. He made 1 to finish 2 ahead.

 

Wolfe had this one if Cody only used his head and didn't allow his emotions to control him. He actually looked too dangerous to be on the floor and it makes me wonder how he will handle his real last game.......

Thats too bad for a senior to act this way. I always thought Cody carried himself pretty well even though being the POY I thought all the refs let him do as he pleased. Oh well both teams will be in the regional tournament. Will Cody have to sit out a game for fighting? :confused:

Sorry to hear about Gilbert loosing his head, why the unlike behavior? I didnt watch this game but did 4 starters fouling out maybe provoke this or was it because he was depressed from leaving the 56th?

I'm surprised to hear about Gilbert losing his head like this. Not the way an experienced college bound senior should be acting.

 

Regardless - sounds like a tough game. I would say these are 2 of the teams that one would want to play in the first round of regionals.

You could say that and you would be wrong i mean Fugate from jackson didnt have an all around good scoring game and the tigers still came out on top. Im so proud of the tigers they played great tonight and im so proud of them. 55 from jackson dont know his name but he scored alot for the tigers in the second and I think Watkins and Davidson stepped up huge. Watkins made some amazing shots and Davidson though plauged with foul trouble played great defense in the final frame. howard hit some big shots to presrve the tigers lead. It was an all around team game with alot of T's and personals. Great Job tigers im so proud good luck in the region.

The game was horribly called. I am not saying that that is why Wolfe lost but this game was just rancid. There was somewhere around 55 fouls called in this game. Unheard of in a district championship. I really thought that the kida never got to play this game out because every few seconds there was a whistle. To bad, made for a disappointing game. From what I saw Gilbert didnt throw a punch he pushed a kid. He was on the floor fighting for possesion when the whistle was blown. A few seconds after that a JC player prectically jumper on his back while he was down and he pushed him off. It wasnt a punch but even I must admit that I was Dissappointed tonight in Gilbert. He really let his emotions take too much control in this one. I would've liked to see these to teams get to play, without the refs taking center stage.

Whoo Hoo! I'm proud to be a Tiger! These kids played their tails off and overcame a lot to win this game. Wolfe has a good ball club. I thought Jackson done a great job of keeping Gilbert away from the basket and Stamper only hit a couple threes. Howard, Fugate, Thompson, Davidson, Kilburn, Watkins, Flenchum, CK Howard, Combs, all of these kids wanted this title so bad for their school, fans, coaches, ect.. and I'm glad to say that I'm proud of each and everyone of them for bringing home the hardware! This is a great group of kids and a well deserved Championship! Congradulations Tigers, you deserve it!
