I agree wholeheartedly. Not sure of many from Ky., I would hire before Tim Riley. Very impressed w/his resume and more so when watching his teams play.

Billy Hicks has won at several schools, and if I remember correctly Scott County wasn't supposed to be quite in the thick of e-thing this year. Don't get me wrong, they were supposed to be very good, but a state finalist I think surprised quite a few people. Hicks teaches great D, does a wonderful job with their press/Run n jump, and are very sound offensively and fundamentally. I was impressed with Szabo down in Fort Myers even though they lost a couple of games. Then they came back and did what they should have done which was basically dominate the rest of the year except for the one loss to MC.

Saleasian started out on fire and got up big, Trinity made a run and had a layup to cut it to 3, but missed and gave up a layup so it went back to 7, then had to foul at the end. Taft has a very good team, so that was a good win this morning. Didn't get up in time to see that one though.

Yea only streaming certain games, and the stream is just fair. Sad that they aren't streaming all of them and that they aren't very good.

Actually being at the game I thought they tried to score too much and too often, too quickly bad shots etc... or they would have won. St Rays did an excellent job w/their pressure, and I am not sure why they waited so long to press and trap, but it worked just in the nick of time. Both teams played extremely hard and have nothing to be ashamed of. Can't wait to watch both play again tomorrow.

I watched most of the Ballard/Ridgeway game online that was played Saturday. Ballard is going to be tough by the end of the year, but they ran into a much better team on Saturday who plays a very similar style.

Oh ok, didn't realize Manual was ranked quite that high. Not an upset at home then I wouldn't think.

You can watch the replay on ihigh. I watched most of the game myself. Ballard's pressure eventually wore them down. Anyone going to beat Ballard better be pretty darn good.

How did Eastern do in their scrimmages???

I was just about to say that they lost many of their key players, but they have a great program, so I am sure they will be good again, but probably not near what they were last year. Should be a great game though.

As most of you know, Montverde is now coached by Kevin Boyle who coached Gilchrist from St. Pats, NJ that they just had the documentary about on HBO.

I hope they do well too. I will be at at least a few days of the COP, so I'll see them in person. I will watch the Beachball online, so it will be a great time of year!!! Can't wait.

There is no doubt this is a fantastic hire for MC. He did a great job down here in Florida going to the final 4 his last year and then moving to Al., then Ky., because of his wife's job. The team he left in Gainesville the next year won the state title. I tend to judge how a program goes after a coach leaves as to how good a coach is in some cases, certainly not all cases. Tony's team did win state the year after he left, but hasn't done much since, and they were a state power every year while he was at the helm. Yes he is a friend and I am happy for him, but I have a lot of friends in coaching who I don't think are great coaches, but Tony is a great coach who will do a great job I assure you.

I am so happy for Coach Wise. He is a very deserving candidate, and will continue to bring Montgomery County to the cream of the crop in the state of Kentucky.

Ok I remember him being mentioned in another thread, and someone kind of outlining his accomplishments on the AAU circuit. Good luck to him and SL.
