  1. They picked a rough year to move to the 6th with Moore looking great this summer, Bullit East fresh off of a state tourney run, and PRP returning almost their entire team.
  2. What do you need, I have ran 16 team, 12 team, 8 team tourneys at 2 different schools I have coached at here in Florida. Be glad to help in any way I can.
  3. Well it certainly looks like with the Western Hills hire, that it won't be Tom Crews getting the Montgomery County job.
  4. I feel sure depending on the draw that Ballard and Scott County will do well again. In tourneys like this who you draw the 1st round and who you get the winner/loser of often determines how well you will do. Sometimes the style of the team you draw might be tough, you just never know. I am not sure if this tourney seeds these teams 1 through 16 like they do down in Fort Myers. Again though I am sure Kentucky will be well reprsented by these 2 great programs!
  5. Milton has reloaded. They return Evan Nolte and Shaq Johnson who have committed to Virginia and Auburn I think, and they have gotten transfers Charles Mann who just committed to Georgia, and Tevin Glass one of the top underclassmen in the country. Plus I believe their JV was like 29-1. St Edwards and Lone Peak both have great programs and Miami Sr. here in Florida is getting their program back to where is used to be which was tops in the country. I can't wait. I will go to Fort Myers most likely as I do every year, but I will definitely watch this one on the internet.
  6. Probably the top 2 seeds will be Bishop Gorman and Prestonwood Christian. Defending large school Louisiana state champ St Augustine will be tough, along with Milton out of Georgia. All teams are tough I am sure. The rest of the field will be Gaffney, SC, Lakota East from Ohio, Lexington SC, Lone Peak out of Utah, Miami Sr., host Myrtle Beach, Rye NY, Socastee SC, St Edward Ohio, and Whitney Young of Illinois. Would love to make that tourney, but at least they normally stream it over the internet.
  7. I see where Ballard and Scott County are in a loaded field in Myrtle Beach this coming season. I also know Trinity is at the City of Palms in Fort Myers. Great to see this representation for the state of Kentucky.
  8. Tony Wise would be a good choice. If he wants it I wish him luck!
  9. Are you saying they may only be ranked 4th or 5th in their Region? Just wondering, I have no idea how good Holmes is supposed to be this coming year. I know they will always be very athletic and well-coached.
  10. With Brangers transfer, where does that put Eastern in terms of their Region and the entire state?
  11. Thanks for your insight. I thought his teams looked VERY WELL-COACHED the few teams I have seen them on the internet. Would have loved to have seen his more talented teams in Indiana play to see the difference his approach would have been with more talent. I am a coach so I am always more interested in the coaching aspect than most are. Thanks again!!!
  12. Crimsonfan, you seem to be very up to date with Dupont b-ball as well as b-ball in general in Ky. I have been impressed w/Coach Just's teams in the limited opportunities I have had a chance to see them play, plus he was very successful at Jeff in Indiana, and at Iroquois before that, but doesn't seem to get the credit as some of the coaches in Ky. do. Just (no pun intended lol) wanted your input. Not trying to be negative in any way, just actually wanting to bring out the positives!
  13. Nice work Crimson. Very interesting stuff. Pressuring for the 32 minutes will be somewhat different from when I saw Manual play on the internet a couple of years ago when they had a totally different team. Should be fun to watch. I think Coach Just does a very good job. Just my opinion, from seeing limited games.
  14. Thanks for the info. I knew they had a pretty good team last year, but had no idea what they returned. I know they are normally a very good program, so I just kind of threw them into the mix. I wouldn't have put Moore in there until there showing at DS. I should have thrown Lex. Catholic in their too. Should be another very interesting and exciting year in Ky. HS basketball.
  15. Good stuff hoopology! Thanks so very much. You are correct about Scott County, plus they play so many kids they all get experience all the way up. Watched a little of their JV play too while winning the JV part and they as well were impressive. The system is in place and is run very well all the way up. I had a great situation here in Florida like that on a smaller scale, that looking back I should have never left. Yea it does seem the DS needs to go to a little longer format to keep fatigue from making the games less well-played.
  16. I agree with Trinity and anything being possible in Louisville. I hope to get to see Trinity down in Fort Myers at the City of Palms. I watched Scott County online and they are solid. Not great but solid. Very well-coached, good defense, enough scoring to keep them close with their pressure and defense. Ballard returns a lot!
  17. Oh and I forgot Holmes. All those schools are in no particular order, although I do think Ballard and Trinity are going to be very very good.
  18. So what does Scott County's win here and Moore's win at DS tell us if anything for next year. I realize Ballard, Trinity and a few others weren't at either of these and they have to be near the top of next years favorites. Who else would you put up there. My picks are Ballard, Trinity, SC, Central, PRP, MC, PCC, and Moore. I am not from Ky., so don't bash me if I am way off base lol.
  19. Being from Florida I haven't ever gotten to watch too many games from Ky., but of the ones I have watched, it was always a treat to watch his teams play, and I considered him one of the very best in Ky. His teams were always a threat to win no matter who they were playing.
  20. Always a good early measuring stick for some of the top teams for the next year. Can't wait to hear some opinions after it is played.
  21. What kind of young talent does J-town have? What was the JV record, and how young was the varsity team. I know they lost a lot in terms college signees.
  22. I know you have been asked to keep quiet, but just wondered if that "homerun" hire might have gotten another job today??? Not in the state of Kentucky. I won't mention the name I am thinking it might would have been.
