How good of a job is the Graves County job these days. It used to be a very good one back in the day, but that was awhile back when Hatch was there.

Looking at the schedule, this event really seems to have lost some luster. I don't see Ballard, Trinity or several other teams that are normally in it. Where are they all playing??? It has always been one of the larger summer events in Ky. Enlighten me please. Thanks in advance.

I know it is summer and it is early, but it sounds like CC won't fall too very far down from where they were this past season. I am sure they'll have a drop off, but it doesn't sound like it is a large one from this, but you never know.

I agree w/u joker that some ppl may have had a bigger problem had it been Scott County and some would have even and have bashed them for this kind of thing. I am not one of those who has bashed them. Not being from Ky I don't know as much about these types of things. Personally from what I do know I can see a player transferring from out of state to a Scott County or Trinity if they are moving to Ky, because those are 2 top programs with great coaches. Out of state transfers have never really bothered me personally. The problem we have here in Fl, is the in state mainly public to private school transfers. Many coaches work with a team for 3-4 years and have them on the verge of possibly winning a state title and 2 of their guys transfer to the local private school because they played AAU with their new teammates and/or to keep from having to pass/or take the FCAT test to be able to graduate.

Yes being a coach what is Szabo supposed to do??? Turn him down so he can go to Ballard? Not sure what the circumstances are but I seriously doubt they drove down to Provine and recruited him. Where would you send your child if he played basketball and you moved to the Louisville area. I would definitely think Trinity would be at the top of most people's list, but I am way on the outside looking in. Good post Purple.

Bart Flener has been successful at most every stop. Glad to see him back in hs basketball.

I am not from Ky but follow Ky hs b-ball and have been on this board for several years and it amazes me when Coach Hicks' coaching is doubted. Many years his team has not been pre-season ranked but have made the sweet 16 and even advanced to the finals some years so either the people in charge of the rankings have no clue or he gets his teams to overachieve many times. I realize he has been the beneficiary of transfers but even so many times he has beaten or advanced much farther than those with more talented players.

Have they closed the application process yet or narrowed down their pool of candidates???

Yes I was speaking mainly of the teaching salary combined w/the coaching stipend. Would be a significant raise for most any coach from my state. Makes plenty of sense that he would leave Doss for Ky Wesleyan. Tough district no doubt. How are the facilities and things at Doss compared to other Louisville schools ?

Ok, that is who I was thinking and exactly (that he has done a great job) what I was thinking. Didn't know if he had landed somewhere else or not which is why I was asking. From what little I know being from Fl., the Louisville area jobs normally tend to pay very well, so I am always somewhat surprised when one of these come open for a coach to go somewhere else. With Coach Longacre retiring obviously Fairdale could be open, but do they have an assistant ready to take over the reigns?

Had them in our Christmas tourney in Panama City, Fl. when I coached at Bay High. Class act with a classy team. Like was said earlier. One of the good guys! Best of luck to him. Enjoy retirement.

I read in this where CC is 15-1. I missed who they lost to as I am not able to get on as much as I would like during the height of my season too. So who was their only loss to? Thanks in advance!

I had a player who had to change at halftime of a game and on the way out of the dressing room his shirt was almost all the way on, and he had on a t-shirt as he was about to pull the jersey down and tuck it in and a ref called a T on him. I was amazed by that one.

Not sure what eviscerated means, but in scoring 87 it sounds like something I hope my team can do to opposing defenses LOL!

Where is Ballard playing at??? Their first round opponent must have been much better than their 2nd round opponent.
