David Hicks has been a long time Asst. and is a fairdale guy. I'm sure if he wants it it is his, Fairdale like to keep it in house.

Coach Hicks will get this job. He has the backing of the administration and Coach Longacre.

This one shocked me a bit.

 

While I was a little surprised by this I was not completely blown away. First off I want to say I think Coach Chad Persinger is a heck of a nice guy that always tried to get the best out of his players.

 

He took over the helm at Bracken in 2009 and in 5 seasons compiled a record of 76-76. His first two seasons he had a wining record of 19-12 and 17-11. His last 3 seasons he had losing records of 13-18, 13-19, and 14-16 this past season. During his tenure he led the Polar Bears to 3 39th district runners up and 3 10th region tournament appearances. While the boys played hard in those regional appearances they were not the best of games.

 

I don't know what the schools administration expectations are but it appears they are in the mind set of what have you done for me lately. Having a losing record the past three seasons while making the regional the last two seasons but lack luster performances in those games and not to mention not having a win against their biggest rival Augusta in the last 2 seasons 0-6. it seems like they feel a change is needed.

 

As I have told people in the past Coaching positions are not guaranteed from one season to the next, and sometimes its all politics. I have no clue as to why this decision was made but it was and it appears the program will be headed in a new direction next season. I can only hope Coach Persinger ends up courtside somewhere next season and I wish him nothing but the best. :thumb:

 

As for my beloved Polar Bears I don't know when they plan on naming a new coach or whom they have in mind to be the new coach. I can only hope they choose the best possible candidate for the position, and we can make a run in the yrs to come. We have a lot of talent coming down the pike, and the sky is the limit right now.:clap:
