  1. Everyone has their own opinions, and rightfully so. But this is an 8th grader, who played varsity basketball. It wouldn't be as big of a deal if he was an 8th grader who played middle school basketball, or just freshman basketball at that. To each his own though. I think some will see this as a trend though with GRC's head coach. Left Lawrence Co to go to Mercer Co and had a major transfer come in there. Now the trend has continued going to GRC. Just my two cents however. IMO, why can't places win with what they have? Does it really mean as much if it isn't home grown talent that helps you achieve success?
  2. Believe he's somewhere between 2,300/2,400 for his career currently.
  3. Been a joy to watch the last several years, congrats Jake! Is this Scott's first POY/Mr. Basketball Candidate?
  4. Arguably one of Kentucky's all time great's to lace them up in high school.
  5. Saw on twitter this morning that 2017 Scott High School guard Jake Ohmer has committed to University of the Cumberlands on a full ride for basketball. Congrats Jake!
  6. Bracken. Mason, St. Pat, Augusta all voted to hold the district tournament at Mason Co '18-'21
  7. Believe Scott beat Highlands 41-38 last Saturday, and Boone Co this Wednesday 52-39 to advance to the final four. They await the winner of Cooper/Cov Cath.
  8. Saw on twitter that Scott is offering their student's free entrance to the game with school identification card/wearing blue. Nice to see the athletic department do something like this for the student body. :thumb:
  9. So winning games they should? Seems like the Eagles have struggled with that in years past, so good to see them taking the right direction early on in the season. Take away Manuals record, and Sheldon Clark/Muhlenburg Co who are top teams in their regions are a combined 16-10. Solid showing for the Eagles. I do agree though, the Eagles will have to defend if they want to compete come tournament time.

  11. Official scoring for Scott: C.Ohmer - 15, J. Ohmer - 24, Meister - 5, Perrin - 14, Hunter - 6, Pouncy - 6, Pusateri - 4, Dumlao - 16. Scott will play Muhlenburg County tomorrow afternoon at 1PM.
  12. I believe Scott has some of their main JV players with them down at Lexington Catholic this week as well. Scott High Schools mailing address list Taylor Mill as the city.
  13. Scott - C. Ohmer - 14, J. Ohmer - 20 & 13 RBD's, Jolley - 8, Meister - 2, Perrin - 8, Hunter - 4, Pouncy - 6, Dumloa - 10 Sheldon Clark - Cantrell - 9, James - 11, Osborne - 9, Moore - 12, Dalton - 17, James - 3. Scott 20 17 15 20 Sheldon 13 17 10 21
  14. Box score per the Lexington Herald Scott 88 Calvary Christian 59 Calvary Christian 8 12 24 15 59 Scott 27 21 21 19 88 Calvary Christian (1-2) -- Rusch 13, Borden 1, Riley 17, Herald 3, Wade 21, Moran 4. Scott (3-1) -- C. Ohmer 10, J. Ohmer 22, Jolley 5, Meister 6, Hunter 6, Sipple 3, Pouncey 4, Pusateri 2, Allen 2, Mullins 2, Dumlao 15, Dixon 4, Joyce 2, Fulmer 3, Starnes 2.
  15. Ohmer had 25 from what I gathered from Twitter. Perrin is still out and won't be back for another few weeks.
  16. Scott is actually 4A... Believe they have an enrollment that hovers between 900-950 each year.
  17. Ohmer missed out on a triple double by two assist. Officially had 40 points, 12 rebounds, 8 assist.
  18. Would need to see the box score/stat line to see if he was "on fire". Sounded more like a free throw shooting contest at one point.
  19. Scott missed 12 FT's, and a ton of point blank layups. They were also without a key player in Nelson Perrin who should return within the next few weeks. Officiating was spotty on both ends IMO. In the end though, give me team success over individual success any day of the week.
  20. Andrea Sullivan has built a superb program in Taylor Mill! I think I heard the stat that this was Scott's 5th straight region finals appearance, and they've won the last three? Congrats to the Eagles, and good luck at state.
  21. I believe Scott is just having a down year, with a new coach still implementing his system. If you look at Scott's freshman team that has some nice 7th/8th grade pieces to it you will see that in a year or two this squad will be vastly improved, and contending like they did just a few years back. I believe they also have a great feeder program with solid 5th/6th grade teams coming up through the pipeline. The tide will turn soon and the talk will be how did Scott ever have a down year?
  22. Nice article write up on former Mason County Royal, Antwavon "Pig" Williams. Here's to second chances, and hoping for the best for the young man. Williams embracing opportunity at T-N-G | Sports | maysville-online.com
  23. Why are adults throwing stones at an 17 year old kid who made a mistake in high school? Is what he did stupid and irresponsible? Absolutely. But I'm pretty sure we've all made mistakes in life, and should be offering a helping hand instead of throwing stones. Certainly disappointed in actions and words chosen from those who thrive to be credible.
