Yea I think he is from Mississippi my mistake. From what I've heard from Spalding and others is that he is really really good.

2015 6'3" PG/SG D'Angelo "the ticket" West. Out of Jackson (Provine HS), Mississippi. Lefty avgeraged 22.1 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals as a junior. Ranked the #8 player in the state of Mississippi.

 

I detest these kinds of transfers. How does an inner city kid from Jackson, Mississipp end up at a private catholic school in Kentucky? Who in the world is behind making something like this happen? You gotta know the parents of the kids at Trinity are not liking this at all.

 

This year it looks like Trinity would have five senior starters that have been brought up in they system for three years and have paid their dues to start. Now you have a kid like Jax Levitch that will be the sixth man again when it looks like he would start. It not only affects the Levitch kid but the Theineman, Stafford and Ramser kids too and their future potential scholarships. When u get a kid like this coming in and starting and taking shots and points away from those other kids who have earned their right to start and play and try to get a scholarship at the next level. They would probably be top five in the state anyways without the transfer. Shame on you Trinity.

I dont care if he is the next coming of John Stockton. His mere presence on the team undermines the loyalty and dedication that the current seniors on this team have shown to the school and program for three years. And you thought they didnt get the ball to Raymond enough last year, well good luck at him getting more looks this year with a kid like that.

Would you think the same thing if there they had an elite freshman coming in next year instead of a transfer? That would have the same impact on the team.

Wow. I remember taking a lot of heat from Rocks supporters last season about how Trinity was above things like this, how it wasn't something that defined their program. Wonder if the backlash would be as strong if I made those same statements now.

You're crazy if you don't think Raymond will get his shots this year. You better go ask szabo how much it means to him to have a potential Mr. Basketball. He values that a lot.
