  1. Does anyone know if these are available, whether it is tapes or dvd's. I bought the dvd 2 years ago, but no longer have the link. Thanks in advance.
  2. I have heard that Mason Co. has been invited to a tourney in Hawaii.
  3. St. Anthony's returns the majority of their team, and these particular players are the main reason Bob Hurley put off his retirement for a few more years. A few top teams already confirmed for the City of Palms besides Scott County are, Kinston, NC, John Carroll out of Md, Chester Pa, Miami Pace, Helen Cox from New Orleans, and Gainesville High from Florida coached by former Scott County player Tony Wise. All this does is get Scott County even more ready to defend their very tough region and state title.
  4. Indiana also has the best JUCO player in the country (Jamarcus Ellis) joining Gordon. Kelvin Sampson is about to become a much better coach LOL.
  5. A little off of the subject, but does anyone know if a state tourney dvd from ohio is offered anymore? I ordered one year before last, and would like to get this years too. Thanks in advance.
  6. I think Scott Co. is obviously one of the teams to beat, as is Mason Co.
  7. Of the Ky coaches I have witnessed in the past, and got to see last week these are the names I like, but take into consideration I haven't seen all that many. 1. Allen Hatcher 2. Tim Riley 3. Billy Hicks 4. Bill Mike Runyon 5. Dale Mabrey 6. David Henley 7. Steve Wright
  8. If Allen Hatcher from Graves wants it, he would be a great hire for sure. He is one of the best coaches I have ever coached against, but not being from Ky, there are many great ones up there that I haven't ever faced.
  9. Well I tried to post this once already, and I am not sure what happened. You guys were right. I have been to every Florida state HS tourney since 1971, have been to several in Ga, & Al, have been an assistant for 3 state champions, and have been the head coach for 4 state champions, and have never seen or been involved in anything like I witnessed this past week. I hope that every player and coach in Ky realize how lucky they are to be involved in such a wonderful setting. The pre-game show sent chills up & down my spine and the crowds were just incredible. I also want to say that Lexington is the most courteous city I have ever been in and I want to thank everyone for that. Also on a side note, if anyone knows the song & artist played right before tip-off of each game please let me know. If I can help it in any way, I'll never miss another Ky state tournament.
  10. This will be my very first, as I coach in Florida, but have always wanted to make it. I can't wait.
  11. If no team has possession then no timeout is supposed to be granted, but for some reason officials seem to mess that one up all the time.
  12. In the first case the timeout is allowed because a timeout should be granted when the ball is in control of or at the disposal of a player of his/her team, and the free throw starts when the ball is at the disposal of the free thrower. The reason it seems to be worded in a weird way is because it came directly from the National Federation rule book. In the second case the answer is no, once again because the ball is at the disposal of the offensive team. Of course timeouts are always allowed to either team on dead balls.
  13. I really didn't care who won, as I am from Florida, but I am making my first trip ever to the sweet sixteen, and was very badly wanting to see the CC student section in action:cry: . Oh well you can't have everything. Good luck to Holmes in Lexington.
  14. Yes you can, go to khsaa.org/publications.htm You will find the link there to get most any tape they have ever made. Not sure of the price, I think it is $25.00, but it tells you on the link.
  15. Where do you GRC fans, and others opinions are welcome too, rank Coach Humphreys on the Kentucky coaching ladder. I saw him coach back at Simon Kenton years ago and was very impressed.
  16. MaxPreps bases their rankings on a points system. If Huntingdon hasn't reported some or most of their games then that is why they aren't ranked. MaxPreps is trying to do a good thing, but if coaches don't report their scores then it can't be very accurate. I doubt too that Moeller is the best team in the country, but comparing them to a school like Oak Hill isn't fair to any high school team that is allowed to compete for a state championship. I like how hoopsusa seperates the schools in their rankings.
  17. Thanks for the help, although I think the last 2 weeks Ballard, J-town, Tates Creek, & Bryan Station now should all be in the top 8 if not higher, but the top 2 are still Scott County and Mason County for now.
  18. Yes you can. It is kind of a tough find on the khsaa website, but it is there.
  19. These 2 games should be fun games to watch. Dematha and St. Pats are 2 of the better teams up north every year.
  20. How would someone go about getting this if they aren't from Kentucky?
  21. Good stuff so far, but I really expected to hear from the J-town fans about the press, the Trinity faithful and Coach Szabo's defense, JC and their swarm press I think it is. Coach Crews at Male is also known as a great defensive coach as is Coach Stovall at Christian County. What do the people think of these programs defensively as well as any others of course??? I have never seen Bishop Brossart or Highlands play, but completely agree with what has been said about Ballard, Scott County, and Lexington Catholic.
  22. I know this has been done for the 14th, but I would like to hear opinions for the best TEAM defense throughout the entire state. The best man to man team. The best zone team. The best multiple defense/traps etc.... defense, and the best pressing teams.
  23. Lets extend this statewide for team defense only, but also lets have opinions on best M2M teams, best zone teams, best pressing & trapping teams etc... I know in the past teams like Mason, Lex. Catholic & Ballard have been known for the pressing just as Christian Co., Trinity, and Tom Crews' teams have been known for their man2man. Lets hear some on this. Narrowing it down to only one region didn't leave much room for discussion, but now it is wide open. Not just this coming years teams, but year after year also.
  24. I am pretty sure Wayne Breeden took the Owensboro job. Anyone know anything about Juan Byers?????
