Basketball season for 2011/2012 should provide another exciting year. What should we expect from DuPont Manual? Remember, please be constructive.

Middle of the pack in 7th region.

Do you have the break down of the new alignment of the 6th and 7th regions?

Manual returns pretty much their entire team from last season. I think they will be one of the top 4 or 5 teams in the 7th Region. Their weakness will be a lack of size with Thomas Chapman (6'4 290) deciding not to play this season. The Crimsons were a poor shooting team last season but have shot the ball really well this summer. I think they will go about 11 or 12 deep. I look for them to pressure teams for 32 minutes and use their quickness and athletes. That being said, all but about 5 kids they will be counting on will be playing football. So they wont be available until late November. By tournament time Manual will be one of 4 or 5 teams that could win the region.

Below is the way I see the region after the summer. This is just my opinion. The teams are also broke down by Districts.

Nice work Crimson. Very interesting stuff. Pressuring for the 32 minutes will be somewhat different from when I saw Manual play on the internet a couple of years ago when they had a totally different team. Should be fun to watch. I think Coach Just does a very good job. Just my opinion, from seeing limited games.

X beat Manual double digits during the summer period....same score against Eastern......lost by 1 to Central at their place.

X always beats people in the summer but they fizzle out by late January and can't beat anybody when it matters. Last year's district loss to Collegiate was unbelievable! Any ideas on why they always seem to choke in the post-season?

Manual was short handed against St.X They only had 5 varsity players(2 starters) there. Manuals 1st five built leads against X to start both halves. I think X will be good but they are a year away. They had a really good freshman team last year and have a beter freshmen group coming in this year.

Crimsonfan, you seem to be very up to date with Dupont b-ball as well as b-ball in general in Ky. I have been impressed w/Coach Just's teams in the limited opportunities I have had a chance to see them play, plus he was very successful at Jeff in Indiana, and at Iroquois before that, but doesn't seem to get the credit as some of the coaches in Ky. do. Just (no pun intended lol) wanted your input. Not trying to be negative in any way, just actually wanting to bring out the positives!

In my opinion, Coach Just is and has been one of the top coaches in Jefferson County as well as the state for 15 years or so. I think he is recognized by his local peers as being one of the best coaches in town. He is a man with great integrity and is truly concerned with his players becoming productive young adults in society. I believe he is right up there with all the great coaches in the state.

Thanks for your insight. I thought his teams looked VERY WELL-COACHED the few teams I have seen them on the internet. Would have loved to have seen his more talented teams in Indiana play to see the difference his approach would have been with more talent. I am a coach so I am always more interested in the coaching aspect than most are. Thanks again!!!
