[h=1]Trinity in City of Palms Classic[/h]Posted on October 22, 2011 by Jody Demling

Trinity High School is expected to be one of the top teams in the state of Kentucky this winter in basketball.

The Shamrocks will certainly get a chance to see how good they are just before Christmas when they compete in the 39th annual City of Palms Classic.

The event is one of the most prestigious in the country.

Trinity will be among 16 teams competing in the open division of the event and will meet St. Raymond’s from the Bronx in the opening game at 12:45 p.m. on Dec. 17. The coach at St. Ray’s is Oliver Antigua, the brother of Kentucky assistant Orlando Antigua.

A win would then put Trinity against the winner of the Montverde, Fla., Academy vs. Richmond, Calif., Salesian game in the quarterfinals. Kasey Hill, a Louisville and Kentucky junior guard target, plays at Montverde.

Cincinnati Taft, Arlington, Tx., Grace, Lake Wales, Fla., and Santa Ana, Calif., Mater Dei are also in the same bracket as the Shamrocks.

Among the teams on the other side of the bracket are Las Vegas Bishop Gorman - UK target Shabazz Muhammad - and Plano, Tx., Prestonwood - UK junior target Julius Randle.

As most of you know, Montverde is now coached by Kevin Boyle who coached Gilchrist from St. Pats, NJ that they just had the documentary about on HBO.

They are one of the top schools year in and year out.
