Quentin-Snider12101-160x300.jpgBallard is again loaded with talent and is ranked No. 2 statewide.

The Bruins have two of the state’s top sophomores – Louisville commitment Quentin Snider and Kelan Martin. Ballard also has junior guards Lavonne Holland and Cam Lewis and senior forward David Martin.

The addition of Aaron Murray could be huge. Murray is a 6-foot-8 senior who is a transfer. He is originally from Pennsylvania but has spent the past three years as a missionary in Zambia.

Ballard should be able to score a ton of points.

And the schedule is tough.

Ballard opens on Nov. 29 at home against No. 3 Scott County before playing Ridgeway, Tenn., and Wilson Central, Tenn., this weekend in the Marshall County HoopFest.

The Bruins play in the King of the Bluegrass at Fairdale before Christmas and travel to the Beach Ball Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C., after the holidays.

Ballard hosts Jeffersonville, Ind., on Jan. 7, will play in the LIT the week of Jan. 11 and then has games at home Feb. 4 against Bullitt East, Feb. 10 at Eastern and Feb. 13 at Jeffersontown.

I watched most of the Ballard/Ridgeway game online that was played Saturday. Ballard is going to be tough by the end of the year, but they ran into a much better team on Saturday who plays a very similar style.
