  1. What I find interesting is that UofL is the only team in history to win their BCS game and then drop in the polls. :creepy: :thumb:
  2. DeSales is also playing their home games at Manual Stadium this year and have plans to build a stadium of their own from what I've been told. Hopefully that will draw more kids out for the team. :thumb:
  3. Are you crazy??? The Chompers doing their chomping is the most hysterical think I have ever seen. Whoever came up with that idea is pure genious. Now if they could just make some red shirts with yellow sleeves so everyone could do the chomp! :thumb:
  4. I can see why, playing behind an underclassmen and not being the go to guy, but I hope he doesn't. I think he has real potential and he and Beanie would compliment each other very well. :thumb:
  5. I see OSU as a top 15 team at worse when the preseason polls come out in late August. They lost a lot of weapons on offense as previously mentioned, but do return a lot of talent. Lets review some of the top returnies. AT WR Jr. Bryan Robiskie could be the main target as Soph. Brian Hartline will be a solid #2. Keep an eye out for Soph. Ray Small. This guy is very fast and could prove to be a make or break reciever. Along the OL they return LT Alex Boone, LG Steve Rehring, and RT Kirk Barton. After watching their performance against Florida don't be surprised if the main focus for this unit is quickness and agility during the offseason. At the RB position there will be two horses to choose as both Jr. Maurice Wells and Soph. Beanie Wells return. Beanie will probably get most of the carries and he punishes defenders with his strength and power as Maurice will finish off TD drives with his lightening like speed. Obviously the biggest shoes to be filled will be those of Heisman winner Troy Smith. Going into spring ball Jr. Todd Boeckman will be the "starter" due to him having the most seniority among the three candidates. He originally committed with the 2003 recruiting class and grayshirted (delayed his enrollment), then redshirted. He will be 23 in June and has two years of eligibility remaining. Soph. Rob Schoenhoft of Cincinnati is a member of the 2005 class and has three years to play. The wildcard of the group seems to be R-Fr. Antonio Henton who, like Troy Smith, displays great speed and arm strength. Henton actually is bigger than Smith, as well (6 feet 2, compared with 6 feet for Smith). On the defensive side of the ball the biggest hit will come at DL with the losses due to graduation of DT's Quinn Pitcock, David Patterson, and DE Jay Richardson; however, Lawrence Wilson and Todd Denlinger prove to be solid backups. The biggest returners are at the LB and DB positions with Nagurski winner and Butkus and Bendarik finalist James Laurenaitis (team best 100 tackles with 13 against Texas) returning at MLB and Malcolm Jenkins (51 tkls and 4 INT) and Jamario O'Neal (24 tkls. and 1 INT) returning in the secondary. Kicking wise The Bucks return Kentucky native Soph. Aaron Pettrey for kickoffs, field goals (made 8 out of last 9) and PATs (53-56) and A.J. Trapasso as the punter (ave. 41 yards with 15 landing inside 20). The schedule seems favorable in September with a trip to Washington in week 3 after games against Youngstown St. and Akron. That could be a tell-tale game as far as seeing where The Bucks are fundamentally and athletically against competative competition. The early Big Ten schedule shouldn't produce any major surprises with a home game against Northwestern and a trip to Minnesota. October 10th could prove to be their biggest conference game to date with a trip to Purdue. The last time The Bucks and Boliermakers met was in 2004 with the enemy prevailing. Another Ohio showdown - Kent State - gives The Bucks a break in the Big Ten season as they close out October with State colleges Michigan and Penn. November will be do or die for the Scarlet and Gray with home games against Wisconsin, Illinois, and a trip to :flame: the team up north. So all you "tO$U" fans have nothing to worry about as I see The Bucks in a familiar place at the end of 2007...a top the Big Ten and in a BCS game! :thumb:
  6. Riiiiiiiiiiiiight because I'm sure the Gators really cared about playing UK. :thumb:

  9. What can we expect from these guys - Bush could return as a medical redshirt - as well as other NFL prospects who are underclassmen? :thumb:

  18. Don't forget about missing the Alamo Bowl at the end of the season as well as preseason practice in 05. That punishment went a long way in that if Smith doesn't take the money The Bucks might as well of won the title last season. But in the end it's all water under the bridge. :thumb:
  19. ^ 1864 to be correct, but we didn't start football until the 1930's or 40's. :thumb:
  20. Div. 1 Jacksonville St. is really looking at him; don't know to what affect his injury will be as far as recruiting goes. :thumb:
  21. I'll agree that whoever this Billy Joe Bob is out in the stix needs to get a life. Let's wait to see what Tubby does with this season then we can have our opinions about whether he should stay or needs to go. I'm behind you Tubby! :thumb:
