Bowling Green 23 Apollo 0 Scrimmage

Featured Replies

The defense looks like it won't skip a beat from last year...Apollo was held to -18 yards total offense until their last drive of the scrimmage. 64% of Apollo's offensive plays went for zero or negative yardage. Penalties negated a 20-yard TD run by Tevin Barksdale and a 43-yard completion from Trent Steelman to Avery Hibbitt. The Purples outgained the Eagles 264-58 for the scrimmage. Chris Johnson led the Purples ground game with 44 yards on eight attempts. Ryan Beard caught two passes for 77 yards and one score. Trent Steelman completed four of eight passes for 108 yards and two scores.

The Purples will scrimmage Owensboro Catholic at BGHS Friday.:D

Who will play QB with Steelman out?

PH

Do you have an injury report on the Purples from the scrimmage? I heard they were badly banged up.

Thanks!

Actually, BGHS, depending upon the personnel they have on the field, will run either a 3-4 or a 5-2 on defense. I haven't been briefed on any injuries yet, but I guess I'll find out Friday! If Steelman is indeed out, then it would come down to senior Derek Hayes (who is also a receiver), or soph JP Jackson. Jackson completed a pass for 15 yds v Apollo. I didn't make it to the scrimmage, or I'd have more for you all.

Hey macdon, Game Day is Mama PurpleHaze's 80th birthday, and I think she's gonna come to the game! Hope to see you there!:D
