Letcher County Central / Harlan County Predictions
Personally, I feel that a good look for the Bears would be to move Green to fullback and keep Marcus McMillan and Cody Taylor at tailback. McMillan was having a great year, but has lost some carries to Taylor as of late, which I don't understand, but they are both good, fast, young backs. Green has just gotten too slow to be a top-notch tailback. He had a lot of promise when he was younger, but hasn't progressed that much. I don't think there would be a drop off moving Green from tailback, but I think it would be in the Bears best interest. Moving him to QB may not be a bad move either. He would probably make better decisions than Williamson. I would really like to see the Bears come alive and make the playoffs. A win tonight would go a long way in that.

Letcher County Central / Harlan County Predictions
I finally got to watch Harlan County for the first time last week. As someone mentioned, I'm not sure they will win another game. Unfortunately, the district is stacked this year, and though they are a fair team, they will probably fall to better talent. Letcher is probably the favorite in the district at this point. The Bears have no speed, but don't have a lot of size either. With Harlan County's inexperienced defensive backfield, I think Letcher will have no trouble tossing the ball around. Letcher - 32 Harlan Co. - 12

Corbin 42 Harlan 16
No surprise with this one, but I think Harlan will have a good year. Link is a workhorse at TB, and they have some good size on the OL.

Southwestern 35 Harlan County 8
I feel that the Black Bears offense would be more effective with Marcus McMillian starting at tailback. Green is not a big-time runner. He is slow, and good for short yardage situations. With that said, why not just leave Green at QB, and let McMillian get the bulk of the carries, with Cody Taylor spelling him, and Shaquille Clark getting some touches at fullback.

Top 10 players in the 13th next season?
The top three looks good. I would put St. John number one, though. Also, Green from M'boro may be a little high, and if Harlan County has a player in the top ten, I would put Hogue on there. I'm still working on a top ten. There seems to be a lot of "borderline" players.

Could The Arena in Corbin begin hosting the 13th region tourney?
I think it should be held at Harlan County when it is time for the 52nd district to host, and then at the Arena the other years. Two great facilities, might was well use both. I live in Corbin, but am from Harlan, so I LOVE both ideas...

Sweet 16 All Tournament Team
There is no way Josh Crawford of Corbin should not be on this list. The kid had 33 points and nine rebounds, possibly the best individual performance of the tournament. First round loss or not, he should have made it.

Top Returning Players for 2009-2010.
As far as handling the ball, he is a great point guard. But, his scoring ability wasn't great. This year I would have taken Faulkner (Elliott), Sanford (Lex. Catholic), and Riley (Holmes) over him. He is definitely a good player, but could make a lot better decisions.
-
Central or Elliott?
Elliott was a great team, but I think a good, disciplined coach would have benefited this team greatly. When they cut the lead to four in the 4th quarter, they followed with some bad decisions that allowed Holmes to stretch the lead again. They made bad decisions all throughout the game, and still had a chance to win. Central played so well against Holmes because they had a game plan intact, and executed the plan. Based on raw talent, Elliott is the better team.

Eastern looked good
Eastern and Corbin were by far the two best teams in the top bracket. I think Corbin would have won the game if they could have continued to rebound like they did throughout the first half. Good luck to Eastern! Congrats on a great season to the Red Hounds!

Corbin 71 South Laurel 35
That looks pretty good. I would probably bump Knox down to the second group because I think Clay, Corbin, and South will be set apart from the rest of the region. So, Harlan County will come in at sixth? Or, is that in no particular order?

Corbin 71 South Laurel 35
I knew I was leaving someone out! Spurlock better start winning more regional tournament games. I'd say Tiger fans are growing impatient.

2009 Kentucky State Champ?
I think Holmes is the favorite after Scott County's early exit.
-
Corbin 71 South Laurel 35
I think South will be the favorite next year, especially with St. John returning. Corbin will be good, returning three starters. Knox loses quite a bit, in my opinion, but return Miller. I think we may be looking at another South/Corbin final next year.

Corbin vs. Eastern Predictions
I'm pulling for Corbin in this one, but won't predict a winner because I think the teams are too close. However, I think the team that wins this game will reach the finals!\ Go Red Hounds!

Ex Cawood Coach John Luttrell
Good. :thumb:

Corbin 71 South Laurel 35
I completely agree. Corbin has a tough first game, but after that, they are the best team in their bracket. Shelby Valley, Elliott, and Holmes will all battle it out in the bottom bracket.

Ex Cawood Coach John Luttrell
I was told today that Coach Luttrell resigned. Is this true?

Corbin vs. South Laurel (13th Region Championship)
I'm pulling for Corbin because I think they have the best chance at winning games in Rupp, but I just cannot pick a winner in this one. I think it is going to be a GREAT game!

13th Region Tournament Semi-Final Corbin vs. North Laurel
Corbin will win this one easily, but they have South waiting on them. Should be a good finals.

Richie Phares torn ACL
It always seems to happen to the best of players. Hoping he as a great, speedy recovery, and good luck to Scott Co. the rest of the way.

13th Region Semifinals - Monday 3/9/09
I think it will be another Corbin vs. South final. I don't think Corbin will have any problems with North. The coaching staff of South puts them as the favorite, in my opinion. M'boro isn't very discipline on defense.

Clay County/Harlan County Updates (13th Region)
Looks like Clay is headed to state... I would really liked to have seen Harlan County make it in their first season. With the young talent they have, and the talent coming up through the feeder schools, they should be in contention for a while.

Corbin vs. Harlan County updates
Sounds like Coach Jones devised a great game plan. Let's hope the Bears keep it up.
