We should have never ran Tubby off
Cawoodball player replied to mountainboy's topic in College Basketball
It's easy for all you Tubby bashers to change your minds now. I think Tubby is one of the top coaches in the nation, and it is showing now. I still bleed blue, but I pull for the Gophers, too. -
Dickie V's solution to UK coaching problem..
Cawoodball player replied to kywldcat01's topic in College Basketball
If our players can not handle Billy Gillispie, they certainly can not take Bobby Knight. I agree that there is not another person breathing air who can teach basketball better than Knight. It would never work out, and we probably wouldn't sign any top-notch recruits, but I wouldn't mind. -
Dickie V's solution to UK coaching problem..
Cawoodball player replied to kywldcat01's topic in College Basketball
Vitale was not being completely serious when he said that. He was basically just saying Knight could handle the pressure of the UK fan base. Vitale actually said there are only two coaches that could handle the UK job - John Calipari and Rick Barnes. Makes sense to me. -
Dave Baker On WKYT Just Said That Donovan Not Interested

I think Travis Ford will serve as a last resort because he is a sure hire. I don't necessarily think Ford would be a bad fit because he brings pride to the university, but I don't know if he could keep Orton, and bring other big name recruits in. Time will tell. Right now, I'm pulling for Calipari - would fit like a glove! -
What KY High School players should BCG look at/offer?
Cawoodball player replied to BigSpikes's topic in College Basketball
I was thinking along these same lines. From what I saw at the state tournament, Elisha Justice is overrated. He is a good, pure point guard, but not on a major D-1 level. -
Sweet 16 All Tournament Team
Cawoodball player replied to kywldcat01's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
There is no way Josh Crawford of Corbin should not be on this list. The kid had 33 points and nine rebounds, possibly the best individual performance of the tournament. First round loss or not, he should have made it. -
Top Returning Players for 2009-2010.
Cawoodball player replied to BigSpikes's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
As far as handling the ball, he is a great point guard. But, his scoring ability wasn't great. This year I would have taken Faulkner (Elliott), Sanford (Lex. Catholic), and Riley (Holmes) over him. He is definitely a good player, but could make a lot better decisions. -
Central or Elliott?
Cawoodball player replied to theguru's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Elliott was a great team, but I think a good, disciplined coach would have benefited this team greatly. When they cut the lead to four in the 4th quarter, they followed with some bad decisions that allowed Holmes to stretch the lead again. They made bad decisions all throughout the game, and still had a chance to win. Central played so well against Holmes because they had a game plan intact, and executed the plan. Based on raw talent, Elliott is the better team. -
Eastern looked good
Cawoodball player replied to AlwaysAScottie's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Eastern and Corbin were by far the two best teams in the top bracket. I think Corbin would have won the game if they could have continued to rebound like they did throughout the first half. Good luck to Eastern! Congrats on a great season to the Red Hounds! -

Corbin 71 South Laurel 35
Cawoodball player replied to powerfootball's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
That looks pretty good. I would probably bump Knox down to the second group because I think Clay, Corbin, and South will be set apart from the rest of the region. So, Harlan County will come in at sixth? Or, is that in no particular order? -
Corbin 71 South Laurel 35
Cawoodball player replied to powerfootball's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I knew I was leaving someone out! Spurlock better start winning more regional tournament games. I'd say Tiger fans are growing impatient. -
2009 Kentucky State Champ?
Cawoodball player replied to katbird's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I think Holmes is the favorite after Scott County's early exit. -
Corbin 71 South Laurel 35
Cawoodball player replied to powerfootball's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I think South will be the favorite next year, especially with St. John returning. Corbin will be good, returning three starters. Knox loses quite a bit, in my opinion, but return Miller. I think we may be looking at another South/Corbin final next year. -
Corbin vs. Eastern Predictions
Cawoodball player replied to powerfootball's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I'm pulling for Corbin in this one, but won't predict a winner because I think the teams are too close. However, I think the team that wins this game will reach the finals!\ Go Red Hounds! -

Corbin 71 South Laurel 35

I completely agree. Corbin has a tough first game, but after that, they are the best team in their bracket. Shelby Valley, Elliott, and Holmes will all battle it out in the bottom bracket. -

I was told today that Coach Luttrell resigned. Is this true? -
Richie Phares torn ACL

It always seems to happen to the best of players. Hoping he as a great, speedy recovery, and good luck to Scott Co. the rest of the way. -
Corbin vs. Harlan County updates

Sounds like Coach Jones devised a great game plan. Let's hope the Bears keep it up. -
