WYMT Mountain Classic Friday Night Predictions

I'd say Clay and Hazard will meet in the championship game with Hazard winning the title! -
Fear 'Les' 13th Region Rankings - Jan. 9
Cawoodball player replied to Les's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
It is very hard to rank the teams 2-10. From what I've seen, and what everyone else has mentioned, Corbin is the best team in the region. But, the teams that are ranked 2-10 could beat each other on any given night, in my opinion. I've seen South play like they are the second best team, but I've also seen them play like they should be in the bottom half of the top ten! Also, I think Harlan County should beat Bell County tonight. I wasn't impressed in the least with Bell. I think Les could use some help from some of his writers when he composes the top ten...JUST KIDDING!!! -
Corbin @ Williamsburg (01/09)

Corbin can win this game by as much as they want. -
Knox Central 105 Lynn Camp 72
Cawoodball player replied to The Breeze's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Knox held Lynn Camp to two field goals (3 pt. shots) in the first quarter, but after that...no! -
Pineville 56 Barbourville 52

I remember the district tournament being held at Evarts! It was miserable, to say the least. Praise God for Harlan County's gym. There will always be room in that thing! -
Knox Central 105 Lynn Camp 72
Cawoodball player replied to The Breeze's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Knox Central Cody Miller - 34 points, 11 rebounds Chad Messer - 20 points (six 3pt shots) Lynn Camp Jonah Mitchell - 34 points (six 3pt shots) Brad Bargo - 16 points, 13 rebounds Knox Central dominated the entire game. Lynn Camp is a better team than they're playing. They basically came down and fired up the ball from wherever. Talent with no discipline does not make for a good team. -
Whitley County 72 Williamsburg 66
Cawoodball player replied to 4chs's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Whitley County did start out the game playing awful, and it stayed that way until the fourth quarter! They gave up a lot of three point shots to Williamsburg, and allowed Teague to get several put backs. Whitley was actually down nine going into the fourth quarter. They were down 15 midway through the third, as well. Williamsburg should have won the game. Whitley County obviously wanted it a little more. -
Corbin @ Bell County (01/06)

The only way this one is close is if the Redhounds overlook the Bobcats after a big win over Lexington Catholic. However, I can definitely see that happening. -
George Rogers Clark 61 Hazard 36

Wow! I'm not shocked by the Clark win, but by the margin. Holding Hazard to 36 points is a great accomplishment! -
South Laurel vs. Knox Central

What time is this game? -
I have had this discussion many times, with many different people. I've not heard much on Coldiron as a player, but I'm sure you're right. I think it is safe to say that Sanford and Cox are at the top. Who is the better player between those two? Everyone I know says Sanford was better, but Cox should shoot from anywhere on the court. Again, I'm too young to know! :thumb:

Blake scored around 2,700 points. There is now way he is outside of the top ten. I'm not old enough to post a top ten of my opinion, but here is what I have gathered from everyone else. Ahead of everyone: Nick Sanford Phil Cox Next tier: Blake Hubbs Lynn Rhymer Dave Parks Boots Smallwood Next tier: Paul Hearld Garry Henson Everly Eads David Hensley Greg Coldiron I'm sure I've left some out, but this seems to be a popular view.

Knox Central 73 Corbin 64

Holmes is a very talented team. They are very long and very athletic. This will probably be Central's toughest test of the season. Miller will have his hands full with the city boys! -

Crazy, isn't it? -
Class 4A: Bell County 15 Bullitt East 13

I'm in the same boat as you. I'd rather see a close game, then a blowout, though. Congrats to the Bobcats! -

How can Hunter Adams of Middlesboro be a finalist for the Mr. Football award, and not even be a honorable mention? -
North Laurel 107 Jackson County 85
Cawoodball player replied to MountainThunder's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Seidel finished the game with 29 points. I think he had eight steals, but not 100% sure on that. North's offense was impressive, but in order to beat South, or any top team, they MUST improve on defense. -
Scott Co. 81 Tates Creek 76
Cawoodball player replied to kwl1977's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I think Scott County is still by far the best team in the state, even if they did get a scare tonight. When there are 46 fouls called, the game is probably going to be close. -
When I was at the finals last season, I thought Dustin May would run all over the Louisville Central defense...he didn't! I know Fugate is a GREAT back, but Central is a GREAT team! Last year it was the classic speed vs. power matchup, and speed won! I don't see anything being much different this year.

Bell County 17 Boyle County 15

I'd love to see the Bobcats pulls this one out, and I think they will. Dudley may get his third ring next week. -
Harlan Co. 66 Pineville 65
Cawoodball player replied to STRIKE3's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
James David Strange scored to put Pineville ahead by one with a few seconds left. Then, Harlan County's TJ Green took the ball the length of the court and hit a layup as time expired. Josh Caldwell had a nice game for the Bears. I'm sure he recorded a double-double. I'm guessing somewhere around 20 and 15. Great win for the Bears and the first recorded win in school history!
