  1. I think this is one of those games were Hazard wins by as much as they want. This Bulldogs team may be the best Class A has to offer (in football and basketball), and I don't think Harlan is on that level this season.
  2. I wasn't saying the Bears' players or coaching staff are underestimating Lee, but some fans seem to be. I think the Bears will win, but not as easily as everyone thinks: Bears - 24 Lee - 13
  3. Don't underestimate Graham. I think he has gone for 100 yards in every game this season, with two of those games coming against Powell Valley (VA) and Middlesboro. If you know M'boro's defense, you know they don't give up many rushing yards.
  4. I may be mistaken, but I think from '96 to '02, Breathitt won three state championships. So, the teams of the last few years have been looked at as '"being down." Breathitt is still one of the best teams in 3A and in the mountains.
  5. There can never be a wrong time to share the message of Christ with someone. However, there can be a wrong delivery. If we share His message with love, then all of the pieces will fall into place. We need to sew the seed of salvation into the lives of the ones around us, and let God give the increase!
  6. Oh. Well, I usually slip up and call them Cawood...haha. I'm still getting used to that.
  7. I think Cobb should play some QB, but not full time. Let's be honest, when Ryan Mossakowski and Morgan Newton get to Lexington next year, neither Cobb nor Hartline will be starting QB. Therefore, Cobb needs to become a polished receiver! He could definitely be the next Kennan Burton. Let's start Hartline, and bring Cobb in when we need to change it up!
  8. That's impressive! He'll be ahead of Tim Couch and Chris Todd. We all know how great Couch was, but Todd is starting QB for Auburn right now.
  9. Breathitt is a very good football teams. Fugate is one of the best backs in the mountains!
  10. I'm shocked by the outcome of the game. Seemed to me Letcher was the clear cut favorite in the district. Not anymore.
  11. Very, very true! I've read numerous posts that put Coach Larkey in such high regard, and I agree with those wholeheartedly because his resume speaks for itself. However, unless the players of this team get the desire to be the best every Friday night, they will come up short. I think the Bears have it in them to be very good, but they have to prove it every time they step onto the field. Also, I was disappointed to hear about some players being dismissed from the team. I don't want to put the players' names on here, but does anyone know if this is true?
  12. Harlan lost 20-14. Letcher's freshmen are so big, you would think they were older, but I saw the kids play in middle school last year. Harlan lost arguably their best back in the second quarter, and that really hurt!
  13. Not only is the 4-hour bus ride going to be tough to overcome, but when you are talking about (most) high school players, playing on Saturday means staying up late Friday night.
  14. After hearing so much about the Fleming team, I'm kind of worried now. Harlan Co - 27 Fleming Co - 13
  15. I saw a couple of coaches at the Letcher game that I didn't recognize. I was wondering the same thing.
  16. What were Lewis' stats for the game? How far is he from the record?
  17. About Colerain being one of the top teams in the country, they probably are considered just that. ESPN.com has them ranked #26 in the nation, ahead of some very good teams including, St. X of Cincinnati, Maryville (TN), Mater Dei (CA) and others. As far as moral victory is concerned, Highlands probably doesn't believe in that for them. So, I would say it was a tremendous effort on their part, and they should hold their heads up!
  18. I didn't realize there were so many injuries. Hopefully, you guys can get healthy before district play!
  19. I predicted 42-14, but I figured Lynn Camp's starters would score on the younger guys. Mitchell must have played his subs in the latter part of the game, too. Good win for the Black Bears. No shame for Lynn Camp losing to a much bigger school - good luck to them for the remainder of the season. The Black Bears open their district schedule next Saturday against Fleming County.
