South Laurel Job?
What do you mean by that statement? If it means what I think it does, then maybe you don't understand the situation.

2009 Harlan County
So true about Jordan Calton. He would be a dream player for any coach. He has the work ethics that will make him a great player. Improved already this year in bench from 215 to 285, squat 325 to 410, power clean 215 to 245, 40 yd 5.13 to 5.06.

2009 McCreary Central
Sounds like Coach Gay has things going his way. Good luck in 2009

2009 Harlan County
It should be about 15 games between Hilton and Larkey. They didn't play in 2008 because of Larkey going to Harlan Co. Having Hilton and Larkey on the opposite sidelines again should help this rivalry.
-
2009 Clay County
Who do you think will win the district? Who will they be competing for 2nd place? Choices are Letcher Central, Perry Central, Clay Co, N. Laurel, Whitley Co. and Harlan Co.

Keep guessing Leonidas.

2009 Harlan County
Sounds like a lot of experts on here or bleacher coaches. I will say just one thing. If you are not out there with the kids everyday, then you do not know enough to be talking on who can do what and what the team needs to be doing.

Chris Larkey named new coach at North Laurel
He has a great coaching staff in mind. A change in attitude is what it takes to win and will be the first obgestiive. Chris will turn the program into a winning program. He will need the support from the administration to help these goals.

2009 North Laurel
Chris has grown up in football with the best at Rockcastle Co. His dad as a well known coach and Coach Saylor as the best defensive coach in the state. But along the way he has learned what it takes to win and that is what he will bring to NL football. He has the ambition to coach football and knows what it takes to bring a winning program to NL. He has not been a head coach, but he knows and will instill in the kids at NL what he has been grown to believe in what it takes to be a winner. What else can you ever ask for in a coach?

2009 North Laurel
Didn't NL hire several new assistants this year? Could someone list names? The only ones I knew of was Carson, Roark, and McWhorter.

2009 North Laurel
Chris was an assistant at Rockcastle Co with his dad for 18 years. He was the top assistant for the offense and helped to make many decisions during the game. Parkey worked with the QB's in practice. Chris worked with WR/DB's. He helped in the off season every day and worked in charge of the agility workouts. Excellent person that gets along with kids very well, but believes in hardwork. He was also the special teams coach.

Kentucky 26 Tennessee 20
My biggest concern was the number of players on the team and the playing time for the players. There were several players that did not get in the game for a single play and there were others that were only on special teams. I know that it is important for the coaches to win, but this was suppose to be a game where it would show case the players on the team to college coaches to view the players. Why did this happen where a lot of players did not even enter the game after making the team and some of those on the team were only on special teams and not ever touching the ball. I suggest that every player be given equal playing time or lower the numbers on the roster. Why should a kid be subject to all the hype and practice and never enter the game? I know personally of a few players that had great seasons that never had the opportunity to show what they could on the field. I know the answer. I was there and was there last year, but this is what I have noticed the past two years.

2009 Harlan
Freshman can't stand on the sideline for two years and then expect to be good varsity players. Harlan needs to get a freshman schedule together and play a game every week if they expect to build a program.

Border Bowl
Congratulations to Cody Ison and Nathaniel Gilliam from Harlan Co. for making the all star team.

3A: Breathitt Co. Bobcats (12-2) vs. Lou. Central Yellowjackets (11-3) Predictions
Breathitt will need to have a great Defensive plan. Fugate should get his yards. Haddix needs to step up on the passing game on needed plays. Keep the chains moving. No turn overs and be carefull on who you kick the ball to.
-
4A: Bell County Bobcats (14-0) vs. Bullitt East Chargers (9-5) Predictions
Bell should win by 50

Which State Championship would you watch?
I will be there to watch them all, especially the mountain teams. I am more interested in Hazard, Breathitt, and Bell games. Could care less about the Highlands and Trinity. I am glad they are scheduled last at least I can leave and enjoy my stay in Louisville

Bell County 17 Boyle County 15
That is what I saw. He took a few steps but never had possession
-
Bell County 49 Rockcastle County 7
I remember years ago when Bell was ahead of Rock 42-0 at half and kick on side to start the 2nd half. There was also 5 seconds left in the half and Bell on the 5 tard line, so Dudley calls time out to stop the clock to score. Rock kicked an onside kick a few years ago after being ahead by about 2 Td's and Rock was criticizes for a year about that. Don't list Bell Co on the Greatest Sportsmanship Team in Ky

Harlan County 38 Somerset 32
Harlan Co will now travel to Wayne Co. for the first playoff game. Harlan Co showed a lot of guts and determination tonight to come from behind and win the game. About time a Halan Co team beats Somerset. Man, was it sweet!!

2008 South Laurel
Don't judge how good a team will be on how they do in 7 on 7.

Powell Co drops Harlan Co
I agree 100%.

Powell Co drops Harlan Co
I wouldn't give all the credit to laying out a year. Best I remember Lawrence Co went through a lot of great athletes in the 90's, especially in 1999. What seemed to have happened after that. You would think after getting to the final four all those times would create enough excitement in the school and community to keep a program going a few more years.

Powell Co drops Harlan Co
What is the purpose in having a winning season and not being able to compete in the district? I feel sorry for the team. Making the playoffs is a big thing for any school. Knowing you are not able to even have a chance to compete for a playoff game even though it is 4th place is a shame. I can't beleive Coach Whitaker would even consider this for his team. There are only 4 district games. Breathitt Co., Estill Co., Fleming Co. and Harlan Co. All you have to do is beat one team and you are in the playoffs. Now you can play all season and say forget it. I believe Powell Co picked up Walton Verona to replace Harlan Co. Guess they think they can win that game. Go Walton Verona if that is the case!
